Xbox just reset after interal drive after update

My xbox one was working fine this morning. I just turned it on and it said it need an update. So i did the update and now everything is gone from the internal drive. Not sure if i can't see the installed games because i can't log in to my account (live
is haveing issues per support page) or if it was all deleted.

I think it was all deleted because the system went threw the initial setup again, tuning and kinect setup. Either way what the hell guys?? I am not happy with this event.

Thankfully most of my game data was moved to the external drive.

this latest update reset all my settings. just had to reboot after getting the update installed.

Ignore this, all save files are synced to the cloud so unless you don't play online, all your shit was saved to the cloud for you. So there is no loss there.

The obvious stuff is going to be gone, you are wiping the internal drive so you'll lose everything on that drive. If you have an external drive with games on it, just unplug it before you do the reset of the xbox and wait until the xbox is fully setup again before plugging it in. This will prevent the external drive from being wiped.

Once the reset happens you'll update, then have to select games to install, sans any saved on an external.

 

same thing happened to me. i was able to log onto account. hard drive says it is empty. i didnt backup. w. t. f.

Likewise. My Xbox did the same thing. Had a 1.3GB update and it power cycled and it started the Day One update. Basically it looks like this random update formatted my xbox one...

 

I can't sign in. I'm worried I may lose everything as well. It's Microsoft's fault for trying to make everything online.

 

Same thing here. I am becoming EXTREMELY disgruntled with microsoft.

 

The sign in issue is a known issue. They sent out a service alert. Its the combination of this random update a few of us got that formatted our xboxs. Plus not being able to sign in isnt very pleasing.

 

It may be a known issue NOW, but it's extremely frustrating to own a next gen console that doesn't function nearly as well as the console it replaced.

 

Everything functioned just fine up until today for me. Im apart of the Dashboard Preview group too. Did your xbox get a random 1.3GB update and format/reset itself? Mine and a few others did and I would like to know why. The sign in issue is just an annoyance
on top because I cant even recover my cloud files. My xbox formatted itself because of some random update from xbox live and I would like to know why.

 

Finally was able to sign in and yep Internal drive was formatted. All games installed there were deleted and will need to be reinstalled also all apps have to be reinstalled also.

Not good guys, bad microsoft. Not sure if it was an xbox one update or the EA Access (just installed yesterday) that did this.

Checked Game clips they were sync with cloud so those are all safe.

Checked sniper elite and Halo spartan assault, Looks like game progress is also synced with the cloud.

So the cloud sync is working thankfully.

Good news your game progress is saved bad news you have to reinstall your games.

 

Same. I just signed in and all of my games, family profiles, apps, etc. are gone. I didn't install EA Access, so that's not it. This console is extremely frustrating when it costs a premium price, we must pay for live, must be online to have access to
anything, and nothing works as advertised. When the 360 console works far and away better and more intuitively than the console that replaced it, that is a problem. Where is the incentive for the early-adopters, or is Microsoft simply content in the fact
that they already have our money, so what can we do?

 

Same thing happened to me about 2 hours ago. I am part of the dashboard beta program as well. Currently redownloading and reinstalling all my games and apps. No the way I intended to spend my evening... Thanks Microsoft!

 

Update wiped my drive clean last night..... Not Happy!
