Xbox is telling me I need to renew my gold subscription but it’s not expired

I was trying to play The Golf club 2019 yesterday and it said i needed to renew my gold, game pass ultimate or Ea Access to play. I had just played the gane a day previous with no problems. Now i try again today and its telling me i need to renew gold or
gane pass ultimate.

But i bought a year of Gold in January and got a month of Game pass ultimate around E3. So under my subscriptions it says Game Pass Ultimate expires March 2020

a support chat person is trying to tell me i have to purchase the whole game again since i got Golf Club 2019 with Games With Gold.

Try performing a hard reset EXACTLY like this. Hold the power button on the console for 8 seconds or until the power shuts down completely.
Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes.
Plug the power cord back in and restart the console.

Did not work, i still get a pop up saying to renew Xbox Live Gold or Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. (0x803f800f)

but i can hop on call of duty and still find online matches so I’m confused.

So i think i found the problem. My xbox is my friends home xbox, so when i redeemed the game for gold it somehow got put to his account and not mine and his xbox live just expired. But if i log into his account i can still play it.

The way Xbox Live Gold works allows you to have the same benefits as someone else logged in in the background. So if you don't own a game but your friend does you can play it on your account as long as they are still logged in as well.
