Xbox is having issues connecting

About a day ago my xbox was downloading an update i let it be. The next day i went on and the first thing i relized is that in the bottom right corner on the tv where it would usually show like games with gold or some advertisment it said there was a problem
getting the content right now. I thought it was a network issue so i checked and nothing was wrong i even unplugged my router a few times to see if it would work but nothing worked. I then noticed that the tabs on the home page such as mixer, community, game
pass, etc were not loading and were saying things like they cant get the info or content right now. I also found out that it was saying that my converstations could not be fully loaded. The most confusing one is that i had apprared offline the night before
and when i went to check my profile to appear online it said Online status unknown and i could also not view my profile. Note i do not know what type of update it was because my console does automatic updates and i do not know if a outage or lose of power
occured while in updating. My console is the Xbox one S. I was told by a friend that reseting to factory default might work but i have not tried that yet.

i was on both netflix and amazon for the last few weeks.. regularly at 8pm-6am... yes i am on an odd schedule. i have had 0 issues with streaming. when i have had issues it was due to my connection dropping..

i think people are quick to blame xbox because they want issues...

to many variables with network connection... things go down for maintance be it the program,the network its hard to pinpoint. but it is easy to assume.

 

Xbox live connection issue

Any Xbox one users can help? we have an issue.

Recently my son was playing his xbox and we added Xbox live (one month free trial)

All connection tests came back good, and he can talk to his friend. However when they try to join each other's game it says "connection lost".

I assumed it was the modem so I connected it to a secondary wifi we have and still the same. His friend attempted to join a game and got the same message. A friend of mine in a different state said she has been having the same issues the last few days.

Anyone have any idea how to fix this or what it might be?? HELP!!!! Lol

I'd be happy to help!

Before trying a factory reset I suggest trying a complete
power cycle.

1. Turn off the Xbox One console by pressing the Xbox button on the front of the console for about 10 seconds until it shuts down completely.
   
2. Unplug the console's power cable. Wait 5 mins.
3. Plug the console power cable back in.
4. Press the Xbox button on your console to turn on the Xbox One.

Also I recommend to unplug your modem as well as your router for 5 mins as well. Reboot everything together.

Try that out and let us know the results!

 

You could try a power cycle, maybe, before a full reset. You can do so by unplugging the console from the wall for 10 - 30 seconds, and plugging it back in. You could also try removing your account, and then signing back in.

If the problem persists, try doing a
soft factory reset of the console (Reset
and keep games and apps) to help reset the operating system. Please note before doing this troubleshooting step, make sure to know your email and passwords for your Xbox profiles.

Try this out first and let us know the results.

 

Hi Mat,

To remove your account you need to go to your Account settings and you will see an option to Remove Account. Once it's removed pull up your Xbox Menu and go to the sign in section and select Add new.

If removing and re-adding your account did not help then a
soft factory reset will be the next thing to try.

I get this also on occasion.

Resetting my router and console usually fixes it. But see it didnt do it for you.

Factory reset will be the next option to try.
