    Xbox is extremely slow/unresponsive

I was playing subnautica a few days ago when my xbox crashed. I turned my xbox back on, and it showed the xbox logo like it usually does, but it stayed on the screen for 10 minutes. When it finally went away, I thought myself home free(pun intended, as it
was supposed to take me to my home screen), but all it showed me was a black screen and I couldnt get the console to respond to me at all. Repeatedly hard resetting fixed only slightly, as waiting about 25 min will allow very slow and painful navigation of
the home dashboard. Could not play games, but allowed me into settings.

I cleared local save games, set my xbox to power-saving startup, and have tried what xbox support has said works for everyone else e.g. different hdmi ports, power cycling, checking for updates, attempting to power up offline.

Tl;dr My xbox has painfully long boot up times and wont respond to me for about 25-30 min, and even then is extremely slow.

    :)

Why is this coz its realy annoying !

RIP decent Xbox forums. At least my 360 console is still going strong, albeit with an extremely slow and unresponsive user interface.

    Hey Lemonz,

Thanks for keeping us updated. So, based on this new information, you may want to consider submitting a repair order. Usually, a factory reset is the last resort when troubleshooting these types of issues. a repair/replacement would be the next step. You
can register your console and request a repair here :

    Hope this helps!

It sounds like you may have a corrupted game file. Have you installed any new games recently?

    Xbox is extremely slow/unresponsive

Hello again, I don't have good news.

After a few tries of soft resetting my console (which took about 20-30 minutes per try, because the system was so darn slow), I finally decided to completely factory reset it to fix this problem. booted it back up and to my surprise, it worked! "FINALLY"
I thought, "All I have to do now is re-add my accounts, re-download my games, re-sync my save data, and then I'll be home free!"- My naivety speaking.

In a way, everything was fine, my system booted up, I re-added my accounts, games, and data. I could play games and talk to friends. Things were working fine. I bought Assassins Creed Odyssey and decided to play ALOT of that soon after Christmas.

Which brings me to today. I was playing AC Odyssey, when all of a sudden my game froze. I could still see the game's loading symbol moving, and I could access my xbox guide, but I couldn't do anything else. I got fed up after about 5 min of not being able
to do anything in game, so I tried to return to the xbox home via the xbox guide. It wouldn't respond. At this point I started having flashbacks, but it was too late to do anything about. Game and system were non-responsive for over 10 min, so I finally decided
to shut it down. I held the power button on the xbox until it completely shut down, then after a very anxious 30 seconds I powered it back up.

My fears were confirmed after I powered back up, as the xbox logo would sit there for ten to fifteen minutes and then load to a black screen where I had no control over anything and there was nothing to have control over anyway.

    Tl:dr;

After taking your advice, I went a step further and completely factory reset my xbox. I put my information back in and it worked fine for a couple weeks after. Playing a game today, game crashes, console becomes unresponsive, forced to turn console off.
Boot it back up to a ten to fifteen minute xbox logo screen to be followed by a black screen where nothing can be done.

    SEND HELP

Edit: Different from last time, no matter how many times I attempt to restart my console, it never even shows me my home screen. The only other options I see are resetting from a USB or submitting a service request in order of priority.

    Hiya!

Paul from the Xbox Forums Team here to assist, it sounds like you're experiencing an issue with your console having a long start up time. I recommend performing a

    soft factory reset
on the console. Choose the option that says keep my games and apps. Also do be advised it will remove your profile from the Xbox One console. Please let us know how it goes.

    Happy Gaming!
