Xbox is dishonest!

Can anyone here answer me why Microsoft are dishonest about the prices of their products?

I recently purchased an add on content for the game Dead Space 1.....The price disclosed was $6.55 in New Zealand dollars, this was clear as day on my Xbox console, no hidden charges or costs associated with the purchase of that product, so I clicked buy
now and thought that was the end of it. I go into my bank account 10 minutes later.....Now Microsoft have not only charged me the $6.55 but another separate transaction was made by Microsoft where they stole another $2.00 dollars!!

I rang my bank and they confirmed 100% that it was not on their end and my Visa did not charge me extra for that product....This was entirely Microsoft's doing

If I had known that Microsoft secretly don't tell you the actual price of their products, but charge you extra that IS HIDDEN AND NOT DISCLOSED, I would never have brought anything from them

This is deceptive advertising and I'm sure it breaks some laws that are supposed to protect us consumers from this happening.

I am so disgusted at this that I have vowed never to buy anything from Microsoft ever again....It might not seem like much to you, but Microsoft should have told me the ACTUAL price is not really $6.55, but $8.55, they just don't tell you upfront when you
click buy now

I have verifiable statements that I can screen shot for everyone to see if you don't believe me

As it stands I immediately asked for a refund of that product because I am not going to buy a product that is NOT the price advertised, and Microsoft agreed to refund me my money back.

So why am I still moaning?.......Because I want to know why they did it in the first place.....I want to hear from an Microsoft employee why they deceptively cheat their customers

There is no way in hell Telltale are as dishonest as the Triple A publishers.

You may want to contact support directly and speak to billing so they can see what the transaction was for and tell you why it was charged. http://support.xbox.com/contact-us

I'm not sure if tax is included in the price in New Zealand, but it could have been that. Or it could also be a verification charge if you used the card for the first time. Verification charges are usually small charges some companies use to test that your
card is working before they charge you, and that price usually drops off after a short amount of time.

Over in the UK i see tax underneath the price sometimes but both are displayed as one on the store but when i go to purchase it breaks it down to price and tax.

I believe this was the first time you used your card on Microsoft store and thats why to confirm whether card is valid microsoft does an authorization check with a small amount.

If it was a credit card then those $2 NZD will be just purchase authorization meaning no actual amount deducted and will be reverted in around 10 days. If it was a debit card you will get back that amount in around 10 days or so.

Xbox is dishonest!
