    So, recently I just chnaged to spectrum internet to get faster speeds that my local phone company was not able to give. I went from a DSL connection to a cable internt connection. I have the exact same router that I had with the last ISP because it is one thay I had purchased myself and it was comparible with spectrum.

    Now, I can get speeds a little over 200 Mbps and thought this would improve my online gaming experience. This has not been the case though. If I go into my Xbox One and test the connvetion I can usually get speeds of 100+ Mbps with a 15 ping and upload speeds of 12+ Mbps. If I go to download games or apps, those sppeds usually coorelate and I can have things downloaded very quickly. However, when I go to play a game online, I am getting speeds of 2000 Kbps and the game is cutting in and out or shaking so bad it becomes unplayable. This was never a problem before, even with the slow speeds of the DSL internet. I am using the exact same router so it is nothing to do with settings on it. Please help if you can! I do not understand how the Xbox is getting the high speeds but the games are not. Thanks in advance!

    No, my xbox is connected to the router through a switch (a good one).

    If I check the internet speed in both xbox and other devices by ookla speed test, xbox's internet is not as good as other devices but it is still fine.

    But if I check my internet speed in the xbox internet statistics, xbox's internet has much worse internet than all other devices.

    Maybe it is because the closest xbox live servers are far away from my location.

    Hi there,

    Are you using WiFi connection or wired connection to connect to Xbox Live?

    Basically your download speed depends on your internet download speed.

    It your internet is not a High Speed Internet service, it may take some time to finish your download. If you have a High Speed Internet, try using wired connection.

    With services offering 3 mbps, Xbox Live connection speeds should not be an issue for most users. However, a minimum of 1 mbps for a workable connection is recommended. The console can't connect to the Internet on dial up.
