Xbox Internet connectivity

My xbox one won't connect to the internet,every time i try to connect to the internet it shuts off and restarts..just as i get done typing in the password and hitting enter it doe that.

i brought it to a friend's house today and experienced pretty similar results.

I think it must be the xbox. Seems unlikely I would encounter the same issue on two different networks

it connects fine, its just in game very choppy and stuttery. never disconnects

only freezes in game, exclusively when playing online (Fifa and CoD)

 

Hey, aaronrich24! We've seen a few others running into this situation. We have some troubleshooting that you can try, but if it doesn't work out for you, we're collecting some information to get those affected to the right people.

First, make sure you've fully power cycled. Shut down your console by holding the power button for 8 seconds, then unplug the console from the wall for 5 minutes. Then hook it back up. Try connecting to your wifi again.

If that doesn't work, please attempt to go wired. You may have to move your console closer to your router to do this. We're trying to nail down if the Xbox One will at least connect that way for the investigating teams.

If that works, disconnect and connect to your wifi again. If you still can't connect, please note your

console's OS for me and then
factory reset your console.

Some users have stated that after a factory reset, they weren't able to connect to wifi still during initial set up. I wanted to prepare you for that possibility. If it happens to you, and wired worked, you will want to wire your console to finish set up,
then attempt to connect to wifi again.

If that doesn't work for you, then please post back with:

• Console OS
• ISP
• Region

From there, we'll be able to get that information passed along to the right people to help you out. Thanks for working with me to help this get to the right people!

Idk what the is version is I reset my xbox one still keeps turning off

If you have the ability to try your console hard wired to your network give that a try it has been a very successful work around to get your console operational until a fix is available. Let us know if it works for either of you. Good Luck!

Can you both please also post back with the router's manufacturer and model number that you are connecting to? It seems that everyone affected is with Time Warner, so we'd like to see if everyone is connected to the same device. Thanks!

 

I'm connect to a technicolor router

 

@aaronich24 , if that's a Technicolor Tc8305C , its not compatible with the Xbox....

 

Hey, aaronrich24! Bimnog is partially correct in that the TC8305C does have some connection issues with the Xbox One, however everyone we have come across recently is having issues starting on the same 2 days (May 10/11). If you could post back with the
model number, we'll be able to pass that information along to the right people.

Im having the same problem, it restarts every time I try to connect to the internet
