Xbox insider, xbox update won't let my friend play games or load apps

Hi There.

My friend has been having a problem which happened today. He installed an update on his xbox from the xbox insider program and after the update had finished he was no longer able to load any games and he couldn't load up the insider app he even had problems getting into the xbox settings. He's restarted his xbox multiple times and he's uninstalled the insider app but is no longer able to install it.

Does anyone know a way of fixing this?

Does he get any error messages? And your friend uses an external hard drive connected to the console?

He's already done this and his console is still not allowing him to play games or access any other apps

Sorry to say this but he says that he doesn't remember what it was. And he's not able to check on the app as it doesn't load.

Thanks for reaching out to the forums! ID love to help your friend with his issue. Do you by chance know what Insider ring your friends console was under when you installed the last update?

He doesn't get any error messages the games get to the loading screen but then instantly close. Some games have started to load but they don't fully load so he can't actually play.

He does use an external hard drive but he's tried games on both internal and external and none of them are working
