Xbox Insider is DEATH

I recently had installed Xbox Insider to join the program after so long of trying to get in before it was released to the public. I wanted to be supportive and test out new OS for the Xbox and new games that will be available later on. BUT no, all I got
was hell storm. The Xbox Insider bricked my 3TB External HDD, I can no longer use it, I've tried many ways of trouble shooting and I was able to get it to recognize it and play game, but the game was unplayable and it would crash after sometime or it will
freeze the whole console. The last thing I tried was seeing if my ps4 would recognize it since it has the option of external storage devices now and it did but after testing it my console froze and was unresponsive. After going through the recovery protocol
on the ps4 it no long recognized the external HDD. Again Xbox, I really wanted to be supportive and I knew bugs were going to pop up but there was nothing that said it would brick my external hdd. You guys really screwed up here on letting loose this Xbox Insider
Virus. Put a big banner next to the display pic when you go to the xbox store saying "IT MAY POSSIBLY BRICK YOUR EXTERNAL HDD" so people can be aware when downloading this virus. I've had it for a couple of years with no issues what so over, until a week
ago with this Xbox Insider. Thanks Xbox for bricking my devices. Now I know to NEVER trust your garbage betas, programs, etc, only useful thing is your Xbox Live with some what good games that are free. Xbox, you owe me a new external hdd, thats the feeling

Inside Xbox was crippled by the rubbish attempts at comedy by PointyHead with features so naff it was actually embarrassing to know that this represented UK Xbox in other regions

It died a death because it was never used properly, it never represented the UK Xbox Community and as Nick Said, none of its contents was relevant even when they created neXus, it was dated, childish, and poor

Maybe you should of read the terms before joining the Insider program.

It's a risk you take & you agreed to that.

Sucks that happened, but it's not without risks. Opt out as soon as you can.

 

Never said it was going to mess up devices, was very angry when I was typing this, sorry for going lunatic on this post. I see now why they kept this program as invitation only, would need a dummy xbox with an external you wont be using to start using this
program.

 

Right after the incident I got out of the program. Never doing that again.

 

Or your External HDD just failed. External drives don't last forever. Did you think that they did?

 

Was in the 360 preview & been in the xbox one preview/insider since it started & never had an issue,including 2 external drives that are working perfectly fine.

It does warn you that you are testing builds & in rare instances you may have problems.

Your saying that the latest version of the Xbox OS has bricked your external HDD?

HOW?

How could that possibly happen?

Nothing about the system OS goes onto the external HDD, so why would it brick it?

Also I've been in the Insider program for a couple of years (think I'm an Alpha Insider) and nothing on my system has been bricked and like I said I'm an Alpha Insider so I get really dodgy OS's.

It's amazing how some people volunteer to be in this program and who are still in it.

In the past I've heard several complaints from people that were in it. How it deleted your friends list, how it reset your Gamerscore to 0, how it deletes everything on your console storage. Thankfully Microsoft backs up everyone's Microsoft account. When
XBL servers have been down a few times, I've noticed the service said it had trouble accessing my friends list or achievements and that I had 0 Gamerscore.

The software running on your console is critically important. I don't want some beta or unfinished dashboard version running on my console. There's a good reason why the software version has not been released to the general public. It's not ready. If it
was ready, it would have been released to the general public, not a tiny group of people who think they're special and have no patience to wait until it comes out to the general public. Yes they may have feedback. But is that feedback from everyone on Xbox?

It's like how before Windows 10 came out on PC, there was like a beta version of it. Microsoft warned if you wanted to participate in this program, that you don't do it on your primary computer. So unless you have two Xbox One consoles, it's definitely not
100% safe being in this Xbox Insider program.

I'm upgrading to the Xbox One X console. It certainly won't have this Xbox Insider thingy on it.

Do I think I'm special?

No, though I do know a thing or two about computers, networks and beta/alpha testing software.

Basically the Insider program isn't for everyone, is the software released in a fit state for everyone? no, but nine times out of ten it works with everything. The most common problem is that we get garbled text, or some minor apps wont work. The current
one is that the Avatar app that you use to edit your avatar doesn't work.

Do Insiders get benefits from doing this?

We certainly do, currently we are Alpha testing Sea of Thieves, cant say anything about it as I'm under an NDA, but that's one of the benefits.

So no none of the Insiders thinks they are "special" most of use are simply people that like to get software early so we can find out what bugs it has so that when it finally gets released its as close to 100% as possible.

 

But I wanna be special & I wanna be special now because I have no patience
