Xbox identity provider broken

Hello JohnSalamii, it asks for this because microsoft identity provider might not be installed or updated on your PC.

Make sure that, if you have the latest version of Windows installed, at 21H2, because recently came out the latest update to Windows 10 and 11?

Updates are often seen as optional, Microsoft released major fixes this week, and make sure you have the Xbox Companion App installed.

If you haven't updated yet, click the link below, update, and make all subsequent security updates.

Also, make sure all Xbox Apps are up to date in the store, and make sure you have the Xbox Companion App installed, it works with the Xbox App.

Thanks for coming to the forums. Not sure why windows moved this t Xbox as this issue is a file issue. You can try the steps posted

here. I was not able to find anything on our sites for the error unfortunately.

I understand you're having trouble signing in to the Xbox app and installing the Identity provider app. Let's try some steps to isolate the issue. Kindly check if you have any pending updates and make make sure all the required services are running to solve Xbox app sync issues on Windows.

Open the Start menu, search Services then open Services. Scroll down the list and find all of the Xbox entries (they are near the bottom).

Gaming Services (There are 2 of them)

Xbox Accessory Management Service

Xbox Live Auth Manager

Xbox Live Game Save

Xbox Live Networking Service

When you find them right-click on them and select Start. If you can see that they are already running you can skip them.

Same here... every time I open the Xbox app on my computer, I get a notification that I need to install something called "Xbox Identity Provider", but when I click the install button in the notification, and go to the Microsoft Store to check the installation status, it is always failed. Any time I retry, I just get a generic error that says "Something happened on our end."

I try but anytime i read "error"... this Xbox Identity Provider on Canary update made me crazy, i try all from WSRESET to Powershell commands etc... nothing to do, any time 8% if i remember correctly then... ERROR
