XBOX HOME SHARING?????

Me and my buddy switched our set home consoles with each other. I would like to know that if i purchase a game digitally will it belong to me if i purchase it logged in to my gamertag or will it belong to my buddy because my home console is set to his console?
A correct answer would be much appreciated please and thank you

Ok test: using your GT when you go to My Xbox in Settings on HIS Xbox, then go to My Home Xbox, it should say 'Make This My Home Xbox' or something like that. If it says that, HIS Xbox is not set as YOUR home yet.Click to expand...

On his Xbox my GT is set up already as My Home Xbox, and his GT is already set up as My Home Xbox on my Xbox...

Another Game Sharing Question

Not sure I understand but here is the low down...
Your xbox should be his HOME xbox
His xbox should be your HOME xbox.

Anything you guy under your GT YOU will own...even though you xbox is his home xbox....

Edit:
To be even clearer.....

YOU log into HIS xbox go to settings and make it your HOME xbox
HE logs into YOUR xbox go to settings and make it his HOME xbox

IF you are logged in with your email address and password the game will belong to you. Make sure that you are the only profilwd logged in when completing tge purchase.

It would belong to you. You paid for it with your credit card and would be able to download it on any console your logged into. Don't know if your friend will be able to play it or why you would trade consoles to begin with

this is a grey area as in effect your admitting game sharing with your buddy, not the best idea's on an official forum.

Thanks appreciate the answers. I didn't switch physical consoles. i believe that your gamertag and home console both get a license from what i heard i'm not quite sure if its true if two license are issued one linked to your gamer tag and the other to home
console i'm talking about the xbox one here also

Didn't really get what you were saying before but sounds like you're trying to give your friend a free copy of a game you're still playing which I wouldn't admit to on these forums

keep in mind that the Home console setting is meant to be used on your own primary console.

Using it to be able other people their games can be an issue, see this link for some information:

Regarding the issue, this can be caused by a service or internet issue, so be sure to check if all is up and running without issues.

Also be sure to try the manual power cycle steps like mentioned on the following link, be sure to wait at least 60 seconds before powering on again:

To make it easier to decipher, let's label the two boxes A and B.

Xbox A
Xbox B

If your wife sets Xbox A as her home console and plays on Xbox B, anyone who uses
Xbox A will be able to use her game library and live membership. However, if she plays on Xbox A, anyone else who uses Xbox B
will not have access to her game library and membership since Xbox B is not her home console.

This is why you're receiving advice to check which console is set as her "home" unit. The sharing feature is a little limited but it's nice that it's provided nonetheless. As Determined Hero pointed out, your wife will want to set the console she
doesn't intend to play on as her home so that you can access the game library/membership.

Double check her Home setting. It sounds as if she has the second console set as her Home, not the first.

Sounds like his Gold Subscription may have expired. Either that or he is sharing with someone else.
