keep in mind that the Home console setting is meant to be used on your own primary console.

Regarding the issue, this can be caused by a service or internet issue, so be sure to check if all is up and running without issues.

Also be sure to try the manual power cycle steps like mentioned on the following link, be sure to wait at least 60 seconds before powering on again:

To make it easier to decipher, let's label the two boxes A and B.

1. Xbox A
2. Xbox B

If your wife sets Xbox A as her home console and plays on Xbox B, anyone who uses
Xbox A will be able to use her game library and live membership. However, if she plays on Xbox A, anyone else who uses Xbox B
will not have access to her game library and membership since Xbox B is not her home console.

This is why you're receiving advice to check which console is set as her "home" unit. The sharing feature is a little limited but it's nice that it's provided nonetheless. As Determined Hero pointed out, your wife will want to set the console she
doesn't intend to play on as her home so that you can access the game library/membership.

Double check her Home setting. It sounds as if she has the second console set as her Home, not the first.

Sounds like his Gold Subscription may have expired. Either that or he is sharing with someone else.
