Xbox home screen keeps telling me to renew my gold even after I bought 12 month live code and ...

Hey everyone, so my Xbox live membership was running out so I went to the store and bought a 12 month live card, I entered it in and it worked and told me I now have 12 months of xbox live, however every time I go on the dashboard/homescreen on my xbox one
it keeps telling me that I have to renew it or "time is running out" etc.

I went on my account on the xbox website and it says I have gold membership till next September 2016 so I'm just a bit worried something might wrong/broken.

"Stay gold: renew now" message from home screen won't go despite renewing

Christmas 2013 my gold account was coming to an end and in the few weeks before it ran out, i got the big green picture of a controller on my home screen telling me to renew now !

When i did renew my gold, i expected that message to be gone and replaced with the usual new features about games and offers etc... instead i am still seeing that green picture telling me to renew when i have many months of gold left.

One explanation i have is that when i was paying for my gold from a gift card, when i pressed enter for the code, the xbox crashed as it was loading up. when i rebooted i was relieved to see that it had indeed registered my 12 months gold but seemed to forget
to take away this annoying message from my home screen.

if there is anything i can do to remove it or tell my xbox home screen that it's all ok and i have renewed. I know it's nothing to important but it's annoying me

 

"Stay Gold, renew now" message still up

ive recently renewed my Xbox Live Gold subscription, but the message on the home screen telling me to renew is still displayed. is there any way to get my home screen back to simply displaying deals and new games?

 

Sorry to hear it. Did you purchase a Gold membership online or via prepaid card in the past? If so then perhaps it's waiting to be auto renewed. You should be able to turn off auto renewal from your Settings menu or by contacting phone support (1-800-469-9269
if you live in North America).

If this is not the case then try power cycling the console by holding the power button on it for 10 seconds until it shuts down.

 

I always bought the prepaid cards in the store, those that said 12 months live gold.

I hope it's just going to renew itself when the countdown runs out but I don't think it will, however I'll try power cycling it later today, maybe that will help or work somehow! thanks man!

 

hi I had the same problem I don't know how you had your membership before but I had a paid for 12 month which then had 1 month added due to the halo fiasco !! anyway apparently xbox live memberships can't now be stacked and you have to wait until one runs
out before it accepts the code for another unless you have renew turned on (card payment !!) I was getting fed up of the tile saying day after day 5days/4days/3days etc...Anyway I input the code again on the day my membership ran out and it accepted it straight
away...no loss of tenure etc...and all ok now....just try again on the day....PS the 1 DAY LEFT tile stayed there for another day even though my membership said 12 months membership !! hope this helps :0

 

@rouble thank you so much man! I think that might be the problem, so should I enter the code again once it runs out? or do i just wait seeing as it already says it's accepted on my online account?

 

Just enter the code again on the day your membership runs out ....I just kept checking in settings/subscriptions...oh and I did get an email on the day from MS saying sorry to lose you !! ha !!...hope it gets sorted.

 

I've got the exact same problem. Surely it won't allow you to re put the code in though as its already accepted it?

I got a confirmation email from Microsoft regarding my 12months gold renewal and on my system it states it's until 2016 (November) but it still has the tile. I assume it'll dissapear after the original gold runs out and the new gold kicks in. Even though
it's stackable I have a funny feeling the console has to recognise that ones finished and another is starting.

So long as the code was valid and redeemed you shouldn't need to worry The verified post in this thread has specifics on how that advertisement works.

 

This is a ridiculous "solution" for a tech company with a 400 billion dollar market cap. If the code was accepted and my subscription extended, why would I hang on to the sheet with the code? How was I to know that Microsoft has database management problems
that I would have to provide a workaround for by re-entering an already accepted (and applied!!) code?

 

Mine is just like that. I usually keep the 12 month xbox live card when something like this happens but this time I didn't so I threw it out. When I went on the xbox website to go and redeem some free games with gold, it won't let me and it says "Renew Gold
Now" so I don't know what's going on but it's starting to make me p/o. Can anyone help me? At first I was thinking maybe Microsoft seperated their Xbox 360 Gold and their Xbox One Gold and made it seperate so you'd have to go buy a Xbox One Gold just to play
on Xbox One.

 

My account shows the same thing. I purchased my Gold online in Dec of 2014, and renewed it the day it expired on Dec 1, 2015 (online). I can get the free games on Gold, but it keeps telling me "Time to renew your Gold"

Mine says the same thing i renew mine 2 weeks early dashboard say time to renew your gold. Question did it go away yet that's the answer we want to know
