    Xbox Home screen and menu frozen/not responding


    tonight I started up the console and put Halo 5 in to start the download process and immediately my Xbox seemed to freeze. The home screen was 100% non responsive and after about 30 seconds completely went black. I tried hard restarting my Xbox to be shown
    an error claiming a new update was needed and that I couldn't download it even though signal tests said my connection was fine. I restarted my Xbox again and it said the home screen was taking too long to load and gave me the code associated with apps failing
    to starting up. I again restarted my Xbox and this time it went haywire, starting about 10 games/apps at the same time and flashing multiple error codes about how I didn't own the game. Then it recognized Rainbow six siege and launched it. Now when I hit the
    home button on my Xbox the controller is non responsive and won't let me scroll or see anything, however it DOES give me the "shutdown Xbox" option...getting extremely frustrated and ****..anyone know what to do?

    Xbox home menu not responding.

    So my home menu doesn't want to respond at all. I have reset my console 10 times, different waiting times to turn it back on, and it won't work. It freezes up for about 5 minutes every time I hit the home button. Please help. I don't want to have to buy
    a new Xbox just because of a little glitch.

    App Menu Stuck On Screen

    On my Xbox One home screen I wanted to close the COD Ghost game so I pressed the Start Button and went down to QUIT. The game closed out but now the pop out menu is stuck on my screen and wont go away. I can move the joy stick around and the white box highlights
    my other apps and games in the background so the xbox isn't completely frozen. I unplugged the xbox and waited before turning it back on, but starts right back up to the stupid menu on the home screen. I know its not my TV. Any suggestions? Xbox Home screen and menu frozen/not responding :(

    If you're still having issues today, please give your Xbox One a power cycle by holding down the power button for 8-10 seconds. If you're still having troubles after, let us know Xbox Home screen and menu frozen/not responding :)

    What do you mean it opens at your home screen and then nothing? Are you stuck on the dashboard or is it a black or green screen?

    If you are stuck on a black or green screen you can try the offline diagnostic tool that has helped people get passed the blank screen before:

    Hard resets are pretty much the only advice people here know. Try another one?

    You can try a hard reset by holding down the power button on the console for 10 seconds. If the problem persists, come back and let us know. :)
