Xbox home issues and policies

my account i bought my games on was at my moms house and my home xbox was at my dads so i could play my games cause they are all digital but my brother messed with my account and changed the home Xbox and it wont let me change home xbox anymore and xbox
can’t do anything because of a policy where they can reset it once a year and since that policy is active i cant play my xbox one at my dads cause all my games are digital i had an issue like this with sony it happened three times before they fixed it thats
why i came to xbox but since xbox doesn’t wanna help i think im just gonna go to playstation since they help.

Issues with Security Policies and Permissions

Make sure the other accounts are logged out before using yours to access your movies. As there are restrictions on the younger accounts they will interfere with your enjoyment. You can check out if they are still logged in but selecting the gamertags in
the upper left portion of the screen.

You can also set up a 4 digit passcode to type in when younger accounts are logged in so you can see your content.

 

Issues with Security Policies and Permissions

I'm sorry I couldn't think of a better title. I set up the Xbox One for my 4 kids on Christmas Eve and added my XBox Live Gold account as the main account. All was working fine. I was able to access all my Videos on Amazon, Vudu, and Netflix with no problems.
The next morning the kids were able to play Lego Marvel Superheroes.

Yesterday, I decided to give each of the kids (ages 11, 9, 7, 6) an Xbox live account and add them to my Family on the Xbox One. This is performed successfully.

Problem # 1:

After customizing the profiles with each of the kids (a lot of fun for them), they all went to bed and I wanted to watch Argo, which is in my Vudu library. When I launched Vudu, however, all my videos were locked from view. I then spent the next hour or
so repeatedly signing into my main account and editing my Content restrictions to remove all restrictions (Argo is rated R). I went to bed frustrated because not only was Vudu locking me out of movies but so was Amazon.

This morning I decided to hard reboot the Xbox One by holding down the power. When it came back up all my Vudu movies were back.

Fast forward a couple of hours as my sons came down to play Lego Marvel Superheroes. I logged into my son's account for him and he played Lego but then, later in the day, I logged back into my Vudu account and all my movies were again locked out.

Somehow, even though I'm logged in as the Primary User, if I have another app open that was launched under a more restricted profile, the lowest security settings seem to be adopted. That's a theory that I haven't been able to confirm but I suspect that's
causing the issues.

Problem # 2:

In the process of making sure my main account content restrictions are good to go, I've tried to edit them only to get a message that I can't edit them right now. I don't know what's going on but it gives some sort of message as if the service cannot connect
to Xbox Live and update security.

 

well then stop sharing your profile with the neighborhood

You can still use your dlc as long as you are signed into live

You are just going to have to wait

And suggestion don't share your profile

 

my parents dont live together all my games are digital i bought them on my xbox at my moms which is the console i made my account so when i go to my dads i made the account home xbox’d to the console at my dads so i could play my games at both but my brother
who only lives at my moms messed with my account idk why you think im just giving my account to random people let me know where that came from

Well you do have 5 chances to change plus the one reset meaning you have 10

and not allowing other users to have access to your account when you aren't around. Be sure to let us know how that goes.

 

No matter what console the account that purchased the games are signed into they should always be able to play their digitally purchased games as long as that console is connected to the internet.

So if your account is the one that purchased the games and your moms console is the one that is the home console as long as the console that is at your dads is connected to the internet you should be able to play any digitally purchased game that is on your
account.
