Xbox home button not working

The home button isn't working, it's able to turn on the xbox, and the controller turns on when I hold it, but that's it. Whenever I'm in a game or an app, the home button doesn't work, it won't go home or open game/party invites. When I double hit it to
record something, or take a screenshot, it does nothing as well. And when I hold it to try and turn off the console it doesn't do anything at all, I've tried using a 2nd controller and still the home button doesn't work. Any ideas on how to help me fix this???

the Xbox home button isn't working on any of my controllers, remote or on the xbox one app. I can't get out of any games or apps. I have to shut down the xbox very time I want to do something else. Help! Anyone else having this problem?

Sorry to hear it. Can you please try holding the power button on the console for 10 seconds until it shuts down? That should fix it for you

 

Try doing a hard reset on the console. Hold the power button on the console for 10 seconds or until it turns off completely. Let it sit for a couple of minutes before powering it back on. Try it then and let us know.

 

im having the exact same problem on 3 pads only way im getting around it is using kinect but ide rather not have to

 

I just had the same problem with both my controllers. Started about 2-3 days ago.

I even updated my controllers with the cable. Still the home button didn't work.

I just turned off my console, unplugged the power bar from xbox and socket. Plugged it all back in and now it works.
