Xbox Home button not working.

So, I love my xbox. Use it for 90% of everything I do with the internet, with exceptions. A week ago or so, I'd heard Microsoft was releasing an update that was supposed to be able to allow Xbox One users and Xbox 360 users be in the same party together.
Well, update came along, still don't know if the party thing is true, but now my home button doesn't work. I can't turn the system off, or go home, with the home button on the controller or SmartGlass app. I can only use voice commands. I've tried resetting,
tried unplugging, and nothing. Help?

Xbox home button not working

the Xbox home button isn't working on any of my controllers, remote or on the xbox one app. I can't get out of any games or apps. I have to shut down the xbox very time I want to do something else. Help! Anyone else having this problem?

Sorry to hear it. Can you please try holding the power button on the console for 10 seconds until it shuts down? That should fix it for you

Pressing and holding the button on the controller only turns the controller off. It will turn the system on, however, but that's it.

Disregard. Apparently the controller needed updating. Did so, and now it works.

Sorry to hear it. Can you please try holding the power button on the console for 10 seconds until it shuts down? That should fix it for you

The first thing I'd do is test to make sure it's an issue with the controller, and not it's connection to the device.

Can you try connecting it via USB to the console and see if the home button still does not work? Or hook it up to a Windows 10 PC via USB or Bluetooth and see if the Home button opens up Game Bar?

If it does not, then we have at least identified the issue as a problem with the controller, and not necessarily the console. And at that point I would recommend looking at your warranty replacement for the controller (Accessory under the console) at
Microsoft Device Support site here.
