Xbox Home Button Not Working

About 3 days ago my home button stopped working. When I press the jewel on my controller the screen dims but the menu blade doesn't come up. Basically, I can't exit a game or app because the menu won't appear. I have shut off the whole Xbox to change what
I am doing.

Any help or advice would be welcome

Xbox home button not working

the Xbox home button isn't working on any of my controllers, remote or on the xbox one app. I can't get out of any games or apps. I have to shut down the xbox very time I want to do something else. Help! Anyone else having this problem?

Sorry to hear it. Can you please try holding the power button on the console for 10 seconds until it shuts down? That should fix it for you

Hi

Can you please try and carry out a full console restart by pressing and holding the power button on the front of the console for 5-10 seconds and once the console has powered off remove the cable from the wall outlet for 1-2 minuted then connect everything
back up to see if this helps.

If you are still experiencing issues after this you could try
resetting your console to factory default setting selecting the option to keep games and apps, Please note restoring default settings will remove all profiles from the console so make sure you know the log in details for them.

Pressing and holding the button on the controller only turns the controller off. It will turn the system on, however, but that's it.

The first thing I'd do is test to make sure it's an issue with the controller, and not it's connection to the device.

Can you try connecting it via USB to the console and see if the home button still does not work? Or hook it up to a Windows 10 PC via USB or Bluetooth and see if the Home button opens up Game Bar?

If it does not, then we have at least identified the issue as a problem with the controller, and not necessarily the console. And at that point I would recommend looking at your warranty replacement for the controller (Accessory under the console) at
Microsoft Device Support site here.
