Xbox home button not working properly?

Okay, so, this only started happening, uh.. yesterday, I think.

I am able to use the Xbox home button to power on my controller/the console, but I can't use it for anything else. I can't use it to go to the homescreen, to take screenshots, to snap my tasks, to read a message I just got sent, nothing. I know it can't
be the controller itself, so I was wondering if I messed up some settings somewhere?

Xbox home button not working

the Xbox home button isn't working on any of my controllers, remote or on the xbox one app. I can't get out of any games or apps. I have to shut down the xbox very time I want to do something else. Help! Anyone else having this problem?

Sorry to hear it. Can you please try holding the power button on the console for 10 seconds until it shuts down? That should fix it for you

Try this diobrandos

Hold the power button on the console for 10 seconds or until the power shuts down completely. Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes. Plug the power cord back in and restart the console. Once it is back up and operational test
for results.

Thanks for reaching out to the Forums for advice eon how to deal with this issue. The only thing I can recommend is using the controller while connected to through a USB cable. You can try also what we have on our

Wireless Controller Solution.

Also, Microsoft does not support self repair of any of their accessories and any discussion of self repair

is prohibited, so heads up.

Thanks for replying! I have been using USB to power my controller for a while, i was using it when i tried to power on the controller. Im going to try using batteries, but if that doesnt work either then I’ll look
into the link you sent me.
