  1. Xbox home button not working on 2 Controllers

So I've had my Xbox one for about three weeks and I am sad to find out that the home button does not work on any of my two controllers. Even when I connect my phone with the SmartGlass app the home button doesn't work. I have also noticed that when I am
playing a ga and a keyboard pops up, I have to turn off my Xbox completely because it doesn't let me do anything (NOTE: IT IS NOT FROZEN WHEN THE KEYBOARD POPS UP. BACKGROUND IS MOVING). Any help would be appreciated!

    :)

  2. Xbox Home button not working

My Xbox One will not respond to the Xbox home button on the controller. I am confident that it isn't a broken controller because both of my controllers started having the problem at the same time (yesterday). I updated both controllers to see if that fixed
it and it has not been solved.

None of these commands are working: tap the home button once to get home, twice to pull up the snap menu, hold the home button to get the option of turning off your xbox/controller. When I hold down the home button, it just turns off my controller without
a prompt on the screen. I don't know how to fix this.

How is your Elite Controller holding up?

There is the light clicking but the home button issue must be a defect as my home button works flawlessly.

Hey there. You should be able to fix this with a full reboot. Hold the Xbox logo on the front of the console for about 10 seconds (don't just press it) until it turns off. Leave it off for a few seconds, then turn it back on and you should be good to go!

  5. The Xbox is such a POS. Crap like this is why it's going to fail miserably against the PS4!

    Hello:

The XBOX 1 is a good console, and like its predecessor, had its glitches. You also have to realize that when you have "console wars," there are going to be problems with any of them.

An Xbox 1 was built for a "Family Entertainment Unit." A PS4, while having apps like Netflix, Hulu Plus, etc, is basically a Gaming console. Each console has its advantages and disadvantages, and you make a choice based on what you want to do with a console.
The same thing can be said of a computer - You make a decision based on what you want to use it for.

XBOX 1 and PS4 are different, and can perform similar tasks, but I would NOT classify Xbox 1 a "POS" as you put it - Some people like PS4, some don't - some are used to PS4, some are used to XBOXes. I made the switch from Sega Genesis to a PlayStation,
to a PlayStation 2, to an XBOX, to a XBOX 360, and to the XBOX1. I did this because in order for me to have my PlayStation Library playable, at the time would have cost me over $600, while Xbox was about $200 - SONY made a HUGE blunder when they can make
a console like a PS1/PS2 so affordable, and then turn around and have a PS3 $600.00.

It is totally up to the player and what they want - and what they need - It is also dependent as to what you use your console for - an Entertainment/Gaming console, or a Gaming console.

Hello Whats it to ya 3:

May I make a suggestion: Try powering up your xbox one either by the Kinect command "Xbox ON" (Assuming Kinect and Instant on is active) or with a press of the xbox button on the front of the console. Connect a Play and Charge Cable to your controller
and see if it will ask for a controller update.

Go to settings, Kinect and Devices, click on "Devices and Accessories" IF it detects a controller, and there is a controller sitting there, highlight that - Then press "A" Then the 3rd box down will show you if you need an controller firmware update or
not - If it does, Highlight that and press "A" and accept the update.

If it does not need an update, the box will say "No Update Available., and your all set.

    Let me know what happens

xbox controller home button issue wont resolve

    OK strange new development/observation

it appears if i plug the controller into the xbox via usb, than still the home button doesn't work, HOWEVER if i remove the batteries making the controller dependent on the xbox for power then the HOME BUTTON WORKS IMMEDIATELY! while plugged into the xbox
with a working home button if i put the batteries back into the controller, without hitting anything, the home button stops working again.

and remember the controller will turn the xbox on via home button even while not connected by USB...

what in the world is up with this controller?!
