    Xbox Home Button does not open menu


    I recently uninstalled and reinstalled Call of Duty Warzone due to a disc read error 3.1. After the reinstall using the physical disc (the game works but want's me to re-purchase it for normal multiplayer, a separate issue) I lost the ability to use the
    xbox button on the controller to open the quick menu. The button works if I hold it down to open the "turn off console/controller, restart console" options screen. To get back to the main screen after opening a game I have to restart the console. The issue
    is the same on my xbox remote.

    When attempting to open my settings app, I receive the error code 0x80040154.

    For about half my games and video streaming apps, I receive the error code 0x87e1000a.

    I was able to open the xbox accessories app and attempted to update the firmware on my controller, but when I click update it kicks me back to the home screen. Same result for wired, wireless, and 2 different controllers.

    I have re-started and conducted a hard reset of my console. This seemed to work for everyone else in the forums but no effect for me. I also tried contacting Microsoft but no response. Any ideas I can try?

    Just to clarify he / she is press the Xbox home button to join or the View and menu button.

    If they are pressing the Home button to join then it'll bring you to the xbox one home. Please make sure that they press the View and menu button simultaneously to open the Xbox guide menu / Accept invitations.

    G'day kuyatatay. In order to get back to the home screen, please press the glowing Xbox button at the top center of the controller. The button labeled with 3 lines is the Menu button, and will usually pause the game or open its menu.

    Hi, first try resetting your console by holding the power button on the console for a full 10 seconds until it turns off. Unplug it for a minute. Plug it back in and try again. See if it works properly.

    I kept searching till I found where someone replied to this problem. I tried this and it worked.

    Try power cycling the console by holding down the power button for 10 seconds.

    Restart the console to see if it fixed the problem after.
