  1. Xbox headset not outputting sound.

Hello. Suddenly I have been having trouble with my Turtle Beach Recon 50x gaming headset And I was wondering if you could help. The sound comes out of my t.v. But it will not come out of my headset that I got 3 weeks ago. It was working until about an hour
ago and I'm starting to get frusturated. I hope that you respond and that you can fix this issue as I had spent a good amount of money on the headset. Thank you.

    :)

    Game audio through stereo headset?

I'm talking about plugging in any stereo headset (like earplugs) to listen to all game audio instead of outputting it through your TV. The Wii U does this with their GamePad (you can play in off TV mode and listen to the audio). The sound quality is awesome.
I've heard the PS4 will let you plug in a stereo headset and output all game audio (sounds, music) to the headset in 2.1 sound. Will the Xbox One allow the same thing?

How can i get sound ? with my monitor ?

You are only hearing stereo sound, now. It is indeed 2 channels, left and right, very basic. For some reason the Xbox One, at the moment, does not output surround sound through the output you are using. According to the article below the capability will be coming through an online patch. If you have a DVD player with the same type of digital optical output or you play a DVD on your computer through the headset you should be able to get a better idea of what the post patch surround sound will sound like.

    Xbox headset question and issue

    Hello Sigma9,

Welcome to Xbox Community Forum. Thank you for sharing your concern with us today and we hope that all is well.

Can we confirm if you are looking for a way to fix the audio settings on a headset? If a plug and play headset with built in stereo sound output will be forced to output a surround sound, then there will be no fix for this device because that would be compatibility mismatch. You may try to explore other headsets that will output your desired game audio. Stereo headsets will continue to output stereo sound.

Kindly let us know, if there is any misunderstanding or clarifications of our description by sending us a reply.

    Sincerely,

Xbox one live - Haven't heard anyone on the mic for years.

You'll have to enable chat output to be both headset and speakers. To do so, go to Settings -> Display and Sound -> Volume. In the Party Chat Output select the option of Headset and Speakers.

    Polk 4 Shot

Just because they're a stereo headset doesn't mean they can't do surround sound. I've had Astro A40s and a Sennheiser PC360. Both are stereo headsets, but the Astro mixamp converts the Dolby Digital 5.1 signal that comes out of the Xbox 360 optical into
Dolby headphone which is a simulated surround sound using a stereo headset. My Yamaha home cinema amp had a similar thing but proprietary to Yamaha called Silent Cinema. Both are surprisingly effective.

The question then becomes what sound format will the XBox One output to the controller? If it's one of these simulated surround sound options then you'll be fine with a stereo headset.

This is taken from a forum reply on Reddit:

Rumor is the XO Seven (and possibly the XO Four too) will "output" at 5.1 surround sound. I use "output" in quotation marks as no headset outputs at surround sound, it just mimics the experience. Case in point:

Due to this, Polk is advertising the 4 Shot as your standard stereo headset that utilizes digital signal processing (DSP) to provide a surround sound like experience.

Sounds like both are using a simulated surround sound algorithm, I don't think the XO7 has multiple drivers.

There must be something wrong in the settings. Check the output sound of the party. Check the volume in the volume settings. Check the volume at your headset or headset adapter.
