    XBOX HEADSET CHAT MIXER PROBLEMS


    I cannot for the life of me found a solution to this. Ive updated my wireless xbox headset,reset the headset, and reset the console. Ive also bought 3 headsets and theyve all done the same thing. All xbox wireless headsets. The chat will either go completely grey and not let me change any setting OR MOST OF THE TIME, it will automatically set my party audio all the way up and will keep turning it back to max volume even when turning some of the game audio up manually. The left side has ceased to work on all 3 of my xbox wireless headsets and i just want these to work because i actually love them so much when they are working. PLEASE HELP!

    Hello Benbo, sorry to hear you're having trouble with your headset.

    It sounds like your headset has a separate volume and chat mixer. One of the volumes that you've turned all the way up is the mixer and should be to at least the half way point in order to hear both the chat and game.

    I had this exact same problem for a bit with one of my headsets and that was the the problem

    Thank you for posting in Microsoft Xbox Community. I understand that you want to know how to adjust your chat mixer. To do this, press the Xbox button on the controller to open the menu. Select the Audio icon to modify the settings. On the next page, you can find three options: Headset volume, Headset chat mixer, and Mic monitoring. Make sure to set the Headset chat mixer to 40-60%.

    UPDATE.

    I figured it out.

    Hard reset the xbox with the headset plugged in. The new controller has the chat mixer turned all the way to chat and not to game . Put the mixer back to the middle and it works. Without the hard restart, the option to adjust the chat mixer is gone.

    Are you using a wireless headset like Astro A50? If so then you have to use the physical chat mixer that is built in to the headset as the console guide chat mixer will be greyed out.
