  1. Xbox Headset Adapter - crackling / clipping in audio

I've googled this issue and it seems to be very widespread, but all the threads are from 2014. This is an example of exactly what I'm going through.

I'm wondering if this is still widespread, if I got a faulty unit, or if there is any discussion of a fix coming if it's software related?

I've already tested multiple controllers with multiple headsets, so it's absolutely the adapter (or the audio signal received by the controllers and sent to the adapter) that is the issue. Help?

    :)

    Crackling/audio clipping in games

I have this weird problem in most games I own where their is a slight crackling or popping sound. It only happens sometimes and sometimes in the dashboard and not in movies. So they games I own where I gave this problem are Fifa 14, forza 15, tomb raider,
madden 25, pinball 2. I am not thinking it's the xbox but rather the games As its not happening on everything. I San just worried because no one else has reported it.

Xbox Headset Adapter - crackling / clipping in audio

I had the same problem with 2 adapters until they totally died on me. They were bought 6 months ago. Does the crackling then it just quits. No sound, mute button doesn't light up when pressed. So it has to be some kind of short that's killing the adapter.
Since I didn't register these devices it will be tough to get a replacement for them. So I will not be buying anymore until they fix the problem.

  5. Hm, my issue isn't with it dying, just audio cracks and pops here and there. It'll cut out for a split second, a comparison would maybe be cd player skipping.

  6. Hi all- I am having the same issue. The only thing I can tie it to is the latest console update because that is roughly when this started. Below is a synopsis of what is occurring and the remedies I have tried thus far.

    Headset: Turtle Beach Xo Seven

Issue(s): Sound started to clip- crack and pop, others in my party could hear it. Many times my mic is not being picked up. Other times it will clip a few times and then the sound will disconnect entirely, others the sound will continue but the mic will
die and not come back on.

    Remedies I have tried--

I have two controllers, both are updated- problem occurs on either controller.

I now have 3x headset adapters, 2x of them are brand new out of the box

my console is updated with the latest patch.

I have stopped using rechargeable batteries and went to high performance duracells

I switched to new cables on my XO sevens- no luck

I switched to another headset into one of the new adapters with brand new batteries and am still experiencing issues.

If anyone has any idea or remedy that might try I would appreciate hearing from you. But after doing everything I know to do with two controllers, three adapters, new batteries, and a different headset- i feel like something has changed in my xbox... anyone
    else?

    Headset making crackling noises

    HaHa!

I remember having those issues lol. If your headset connects via head set adapter, update the adapter that should fix the issue. If it doesn't then buy an xbox one headset adapter it should come with a little wire you plug into your xbox so you can update
it's software and sync it to the console and from then on no more crackling will be heard. If you using an Xbox One x controller with a little headset port that's the best quality hearing your going to get with the crackling. Anyways its not so bad, to be
honest I wouldn't waste a dime on a headset adapter i would just sit back relax ignore the crackling and play my game. I hope this helps you.
