Xbox Headphone adapter and 3rd Party Headset

    Hi,

Im posting because after searching the web for a couple days now i haven't found a solution yet and hopefully someone here found it !

I have a pair of B&O H6 that i wish i could use with my xbox one for game sound and mic !

Bought the microsoft headset adapter sound works but not the mic after some research i found that a OMTP/CTIA adapter could solve my probleme so i ordered one but i have the same problem sound is working but still no mic !

if anyone have the solution on how to fix this issue please post

    Thanks a lot

    :)

Can a 3rd-party headset be used with a Bluetooth Adapter. My Xbox Headset just broke .

    Chat through a HI-FI headphone??

As far as I've been able to tell, chat does not work for most 3rd party headsets when using the adapter. The adapter that was, of course, supposed to enable chat for 3rd party headsets. Sigh.

I've been having similar issues with the adapter for almost a year. I have TB Earforce PX21's which work fine with the Xbox 360, but with the Xbox One and its "adapter"... sometimes the mic works, most of the time it doesn't. Usually, I try to fix it by
disconnecting the adapter or restarting the controller - which inevitability results with controller no longer working at all. Then I'm forced to go unplug the XbOne from the wall and start again. Sometimes the mic actually works after all this.

Obviously, Microsoft has NO interest in fixing this problem. It also seems fairly obvious that they'd rather we buy new headsets so they can make more money off us. Why else change the plug size? So we can't use our old headsets that worked just fine. Apple
did the same thing when they introduced the "lightning" adapter.

So, in conclusion, you're pretty much ***. We all are. There's a ton of posts here about mic/headset problems, the adapter has been out for a year & they haven't even bothered to really acknowledge the issue. Thanks MS...

  5. @DarkThrone I have the same exact problems as you. Using a TB xp400. I've only just got my Xbox One and it's driving me mental. I know it's not a headset problem as I use the headset on my PS4 and it works fine. It's clearly a problem with the adaptor.

As for buying a new headset - I've looked at them and they all say they include the headset adaptor, making me think they'd have the same issues too.

I am not sure if this will help anyone but, here is what I did and it works great.

I have the TB x41 wireless headset. I use a digital to analog converter box like this one

www.amazon.com/.../ref=sr_1_2.. Run the Toslink from the X1 to the box, then
your RCA cable frome the converter to yoru transmitter box for your headset..

In the settings on the console, you should set them up as follows:

    HDMI audio=Stereo uncompressed

    Optical audio=Stereo uncompressed

    Bitstream format=off

try these settings and let me know if these help you

To Dbole007, thanks for the suggestion but the converter would neutralize my headphone's ability for surround sound. My TB PX21's come with a decoder to transmit the signal to the headset as I just run the the optical cable directly out of the XBOne into
the Turtle Beach Dolby decoder which then transmits to the headset.

Stereo MAY be the answer tho, because I believe MS's own XBOne headset it only a stereo headset which, to me, defies explanation.
