HI i bought a 4k TV with HDR10+ but i get the following message see photo.

can someone help me with why it is saying about the following.

HDR Gaming Equality?

I'm with the understanding that all Xbox One games that support HDR will have HDR on the S. HDR is not limited to just the Xbox One X Enhanced games.

 

A HDR game list for Xbox One S?

Is that official?

HDR is an "Xbox One X Enhanced" feature for those games, that's official words.

For example Rise of the Tomb Raider, NO HDR on Xbox One S.

We understand how frustrating this whole process can be however, rest assured we are here to help! The errors on the pic could be stemming from an update on the console or a resolution setting. The best course of action would be a reset of the console since
the problem might be on the actual OS of the console so we would suggest a

Soft Factory Reset (while keeping games and apps) IF AND ONLY IF THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA IS MET:

• There is a stable network connection.
• The information for all profiles is known (email and passwords)

Once the setup is complete it will ask if we want to keep settings or manual setup lets do manual setup. Give it a shot and let us know of any changes!

If you have a 4K HDR TV you would need to Enable HDR in the Settings of your TV.

Many TV manufacturer disabled HDR and it needs to be turned on manually.

 

Ok this is where I am a 4k noobie. I take it hdr is different from 4k?

You would be correct! 4K refers to the resolution while HDR has to deal with color and contrast. I too was fairly uninformed when I upgraded my TV. Try watching some YouTube videos to learn about your cool new setup, and how to get the most out of your Xbox!

On some TV you need to enable the HDR setting to allow the HDMI ports to be in 4K.

You have to check out your TV settings and find where you can choose the HDMI port where your console is attached too, and click enable HDR.

For example on my TV LG is under setting, general, I then can choose which HDMI port and click on enable HDMI Ultra HD Deep Color.

After that my console showed all green mark check

Which model TV have you bought? You should check out their original site to find out where is this setting on your TV.

Ah cheers. When I turn on HDMI UHD Color. The screen goes black. So not sure if that the Xbox does not like it or if it is a tv thing

Have you tried any of the troubleshooting steps outlined at
Troubleshooting 4k and HDR on Xbox One X and Xbox One S? If you haven't, I'd give that a try.

When you have a chance, give that information a look through, try those steps out and let us know if this information helped out.
