1. Xbox hdmi not working, AV cables do!

I've been using my xbox 360 s(250gb) once or twice a week, today I've decided to turn it on and listen to Pandora on my home theater, but it was no dice. HDMI output is not being picked up by my tv nor my receiver. My PS4 and pc work fine with the same hdmi
cable on both TV and receiver. This seems to be the only problem I have encountered at the moment, I've tried everything on the troubleshoot site and nothing has work. Any help would be very much appreciated, this is my 5th xbox 360 that has given problems.

    :)

Problem with 360 video and audio

I tried it with an av cable instead, dont have another hdmi cable, and it works fine but i guess i will need to get another hdmi cable to confirm that it is not the female connectors on my tv or my xbox 'til then it all looks like shit

  4. Xbox hdmi not working, AV cables do!

Try this: connect your 360 to your TV with the included composite (Yellow, Red, White) cable . Power off 360 and TV. Connect the HDMI cable between them. Hold down the controller's xBox button for 3 seconds to power on, and wait for about 20 seconds. Press
right on the (dpad) left analog stick 9 times, to navigate to the System Settings menu. Press the A button 4 times. (This will go to System Settings, Console Settings, Display, HDTV settings.) Press up twice on the (dpad) left analog stick. Press A. If no
picture appears, wait 15 seconds, Press up again and press A. What you are doing is selecting lower display resolutions. Once you have a picture, you can try other higher resolutions, if you want, and it will revert back if you don't confirm it is ok. The
360 will remember the setting you finalize.

  5. The HDMI wont output any signal, I am using the AV cable at the moment (Yellow, Red, White). I cannot access HDTV setting since they are greyed out, meaning that I cannot change them. I have tried Holding down on Y and RT as the xbox boots up to reset the
screen resolution. I have tried everything of the troubleshooting site and nothing has work. This all started with an update yesterday, now I have no signal through hdmi.

If you have the S or E model Xbox 360 there is an alternate way to reset the display settings.

    .

Xbox 360 E or Xbox 360 S console: To reset display setting on these console models, you can also just turn off the console and then hold the power button on the front of the console down for about 10 seconds. (The lights will flash several times.)

  7. I've done it all, will not work... I repeat, after an update yesterday, HDMI wont work, all hdmi cables work with all my other components except for my 360. This was After an update, only AV(Yellow, Red, White) cables work. No high definition on the console.

4GB Slim does not connect to HDMI or controllers
Darn, it didn't work.
Try it with the AV cable attached and no HDMI cable.

I just tried it with NO cable (no AV, no HDMI) and it just sat there. Seems you need either a good HDMI link end to end or an AV cable attached. Nothing just sits and waits.

Yes, the standard Xbox 360 AV cable and any HDMI cables will work with the Xbox 360 S.
