Xbox HDMI not showing / Xbox won't turn off

My Xbox won't turn off unless I cold reboot it AND the HDMI won't show up on the TV. It gives me the error message E102 or E105 and when I try to reset the Xbox the screen just freezes.

Xbox TV purple screen with BT YouView Box

Xbox Live TV shows a purple screen when connected to BT YouView box. Tried turning everything off and disconnecting HDMI cable. Then turning on BT YouView, connecting HDMI cable and finally turning xbox on. It still didn't work. Any ideas?

Wireless controllers will not sync to console

Well, found this too: If you're using an HDMI connection between the Xbox 360 and the TV, it might be that. When using HDMI, the Xbox won't boot up until it knows what the TV is capable of displaying. Although the controller will turn the console on, it
won't sync with the console -- and it's not a controller or console problem, but just a symptom of the fact that the Xbox won't get to the point where controllers will sync until it can properly communicate with the TV. I'd recommend turning off the TV and
the Xbox, disconnecting the HDMI cable and re-connecting it after making sure the contacts are clean. Then turn the Xbox back on first; you'll likely to see the same behavior. Finally, turn the TV back on. With it being switched back into HDMI mode, it just
might "kick-start" the Xbox into a good communication link across HDMI.

Xbox HDMI not showing / Xbox won't turn off

    Hey aevee,

I'm sorry to hear about these issues being experienced with your Xbox. I'd be happy to provide some information.

    First I recommend to fully
    power cycle
the Xbox and make sure it's plugged into directly into a wall power outlet.

Then I recommend to look over our
    System Update Solution
article for help with the E102 and E105 errors during the reset.

Eventually if the help from the article does not solve the issue, I believe the console would need to sent in for repair. You can do so from

    https://support.microsoft.com/devices
or you can get assistance from
    Xbox Customer Support.

    I hope this helps.

    Xbox won’t show on tv

Try unplugging the HDMI cord and turn the tv off then back on. Then plug in HDMI in with the xbox off then turn the xbox on. Works for me when that happens.
