Xbox has very unusual problem

I cannot start any of my games or apps even xbox assist wont start up. The updates are frozen with out pausing them. I went on other accounts on the same xbox and the same problem occurs. I have even restarted the xbox multiple times in multiple ways.
I do have some suspicions though. A couple of days back an account appeared that sent the message," sooo wassup". I wanted to know who it was so i asked " who is this". The account then started speaking inappropriately saying "btw how old are you" and " I'll
get my web cam so we can have some FUN" I asked the account to stop. Afterwards I then looked to see who this account was on the account's page and showed that the account had no gamer points, no captures, and has not played a single game as if it was a brand
new account. I repeatedly deleted the conversation and reported the account but the conversation seemed to stay. I eventually deleted the conversation and continued to play my games. On the same day of the account later on in the evening this problem started
and has not been fixed sense then. Just today I went to check if xbox messaged saying that they have taken care of it and there was no message. I've tryed everything and still the same problem exists.

Hi there,

My best advice would be to secure your account with 2 step authentication and to change your password, if you think it has been compromised. Xbox is a very secure service, and I say this all, to help with your peace of mind. More on the process,

In regards to your console freezing, I would recommend a power cycle to start with (unplug router and Xbox from the mains, wait 2 mins for the network data to clear completely, plug back in and retry), and a master reset as a last resort. More suggestions

here, via a quick search on the Xbox Support site.

Xbox had an issue earlier today with purchases and content Usage.

I also couldnt download or open some games to play. I also couldn't get onto my profile and some settings.

The issue has now been resolved and everything is ok again so i hope you can get back to enjoying your games.

yes ive done it all it still doesnt work but it wont allow me to test the multiplayer connection

Hey there DylanMathews,

Thanks for reaching out to the Forums for advice on how to hopefully figure out what's going on with your console. Seeing as nothing is opening, I would suggest a soft factory reset of your console.
It's a reset of your console back to factory settings but one that does not uninstall any of your games or apps and is a really good troubleshooting step for most issues.

Once you have verified that your network is set up adequately and you know all the sign in information for your gamertags, follow the steps here on

How to reset your console to factory defaults on Xbox One and select the option denoted reset and keep your games & apps.

If that does not work, I think it might be best to go ahead and get in contact with customer support directly for further troubleshooting.

When you get the chance, give those steps a shot and let us know if that helped.
