Xbox Hardware Failure? (Sudden Wireless Connection Fail)

I have a 5-year-old Xbox 360 (White model with HDMI port, no internal wifi hardware) and a few days ago, while playing a multiplayer match Destiny, I was abruptly disconnected from Xbox live. I restarted my console, went back into a match in Destiny, but
my connection was dropping every ten seconds and was unable to connect. I shut my console down for the day, and the following day I went online and played some Dark Souls. As soon as I summoned another player to my world, my Xbox crashed (slowed down and
then froze completely), so I shut it down and restarted. Since then, I am unable to connect to my wireless router. I usually get an IP address error, but occasionally it'll get past that point and lead to a DNS Error.

I followed every step on the troubleshooting page of Xbox Live Support, and I cannot get connected to my wireless router. I have placed my hard drive and external wireless adapter into an alternate xbox, and everything worked fine.

Is there anything else I could try, or is it a hardware failure?

    :)

failure of my slims connecting to modem wirelessly

    Hello user,

It seems that you are experiencing a hardware failure on your router. If you are using cable internet, you will have a router, and also a modem. These are different, but there are some devices that have both together in one physical box. If it connects with
an Ethernet cable, but will not connect wirelessly it can be a number of problems.

1.) Check that you are connecting to the correct wireless network, and not your neighbors.

2.) Check that password (if you have one) on the wireless network matches.

3.) Router failure can cause Ethernet cables to connect, but wireless to fail.

When routers usually begin to fail, the wireless is the first part of the device to fail. Try a new router, if that works, then the router has failed.

Hope this helped, please give feedback and let me know how I did or contact me if you have any further questions.

    "IP Address Error"

Are you getting any hardware failure message, for example "To use a wired Internet connection, make sure an Ethernet cable is connected..."? Try with a wireless solution to see if the Xbox can connect to your wireless network instead.

    "IP Address Error"

No, I am not getting hardware failure message. I will try with wireless now and will post the result.

I can't connect to modem, because it's in a different room, and I don't have a monitor there.
