  2. Hard drive problem

For the past few months my hard drive would just crash on my xbox while playing games. Recently it has happened more often. I have a SATA 1.0TB hard drive. Is there a certain setting that's causing the problem or is it the hard drive itself. I have a lot of storage on their that I would hate to lose. I'm sure its not an overheating problem because I would turn the hard drive on for the first time that day and it would crash in the first few minute. Please help if you can, its annoying the crap out of me.

Have you tried to take out your hard drive blow on it and put it in correctly? Something like that happened to me before and that fixed it. Also do you have a Slim?

Is it an official Microsoft HDD or a 3rd party item?

As it`s a known fact that 3rd party hard drives can cause considerable problems with not being recognised by the console.

    The following solution is copied and pasted from the Support status code search facility;

Error code E69 occurs when you use your Xbox 360 console

    Problem

You may see the following error message and code when you use your Xbox 360 console:

System Error: Contact Xbox Customer Support

    Error code E69

This means that there may be a problem with the console.

    Solutions

    Try the following steps:

    Xbox 360 E console and Xbox 360 S consoles

Disconnect and reconnect all accessories. If the power button light is red after reconnecting a specific accessory, it indicates the accessory is faulty and should be replaced. If the power supply light remains green after you have reconnected all accessories,
your issue may have been a loose accessory connection.

Remove the hard drive. If the system error message is not displayed with the hard drive removed, your hard drive may be experiencing a hardware failure. Order a new Xbox 360 Hard Drive from our Xbox Online Service Centre (sign in with your Microsoft account).
Console registration is required to replace a hard drive under warranty.

    Remove any USB flash drives.

If this step resolves the problem, reattach the USB flash drive to make sure that the error occurs only when it is connected. If this is true, use another USB flash drive.

    Hard Drive Not Recognised

Hi, the problem is that you configured the hard drives as xbox USB storage devices, this will have removed information the console needs to distinguish an xbox hard drive from a USB hard drive. In essence this now means you can't use the hard drives as
    xbox hard drives again.

    Hard drive not recognised

I see two possibilities then, the data on the hard drive has been corrupted somehow, or the Xbox is no longer able to detect hard drives any more. I would recommend getting your Xbox repaired, but in the meantime is there another Xbox you could put your
hard drives in to see if it is a problem with your Xbox, or if it is a problem with the hard drives?

Some of my friends are having the same problem with the 20GB hard drive and an original XBOX 360 but my other friends with an original XBOX 360 with a 60GB hard drive and up do not have this problem... I assume it's the hard drive?

    e68 error

It could be a problem with the Hard Drive itself or a problem with the internal connection to the hard drive, Try removing the hard drive and playing without it.

If this works, then it's your harddrive. Install the harddrive back in your xbox and try again.

    Xbox original games on 360

The most common problem is either with the game and/or the hard drive.

For example, some original xbox games are able to be played.

The problem with the hard drive is the it can only play original xbox games if your xbox has a Microsoft brand hard drive.

If you still have a problem keeping posting on this or a new thread :)
