Xbox Hard Drive picking

Hi, I'm having trouble connecting my external hard drive to my xbox one. I have configured it on the xbox as a media hard drive and it is a 3.o connectivity. when i try to launch the media player app the app says there is no media found though when i go
to my settings the xbox is picking up the hard drive? :/ does anyone know how to over come this issue?

 

Xbox 360 E hard drives are black and rectangular. They have a curved edge and are fairly slim. When purchased new, they have a tab protruding from the base that displays how many gigabytes of storage the unit contains like this one:

So to answer your question the HDD you have picked up will not work because its for a simple Xbox 360

 

Isn't my Xbox 360 an S though? It said in the description that it's an 4GB S console. Also the E is more flatter than my S. Not to mention in S (my xbox) the disc opener is on the left, and on E its on the right.

 

I did some research and I found a video where you can take off the old 1st generation hard drive and put it into the new xbox. So I went to my friend's house we took apart the case of the old hard drive and put the actual hard drive in his Xbox Slim and
it worked! I'm planning to order the old 20 GB Hard drive since its more cheaper than the new hard drive.

The E and the Slim use the same hard drives. The one you chose is for the original "fat" style of 360. It is a violation of the terms of service to use that style on a Slim console. The only authorized hard drives for the Slims are the 250gb and 320gb like
Dangerous showed you.

It might work, but it's not an official hard drive. So you would put yourself at risk of being banned if you use it and if there are any issues, Microsoft will not be able to fix it. As stated earlier, the only official hard drives are the 250gb and 320gb
hard drives like Dangerous showed you.
