Xbox: Halo: The Master Chief Collection error (0xC0030004)

Hello there,

I am on Windows 11 and I recently have installed Halo: MCC through the Xbox Game Pass, however, I have not been able to start the application with the Easy Anti-Cheat. It works with the modded version perfectly, however, the other mode does not work. I believe this is an issue with Easy Anti-Cheat, however, I am unsure. The error code that follows upon starting the game is 10022 (Unexpected error. (0xC0030004)). See the image below.

I attempted to do what the Easy Anti-Cheat website (https://www.easy.ac/en-us/support/mcc/issues/guide/) instructed, however, I was unable to run the .exe file located in the folder D:\Program Files\ModifiableWindowsApps\HaloMCC\installers. I receive the following error:

I have attempted to run the file easyanticheat_setup.exe after having it sent from a friend, and it allowed me to repair Easy Anti-Cheat for Halo: MCC, however, it still failed to launch the game, and I received the same error.

This has been an incredibly frustrating issue that has not occurred with other applications that utilize Easy Anti-Cheat, such as Fortnite. (Note: this was on Windows 10 when I last played if Windows version has any factor in my game not working)

I appreciate any help! Let me know if I can make any further clarifications to help solve the issue.

I have the same problem with MCC anti cheat coming up and not letting me play. I have a new lap top running windows 11. I also had this problem on another new laptop running windows 10, I am not able to play any of the multiplayer games in the Mcc. I am able to play the single player maps but when it comes to multiplayer I cannot play.

I was able to play at one time on windows 10 with my old laptop but i did not have steam downloaded or running on my laptop. This one and my last laptop had steam downloaded with games open but they were closed at the time of downloading and trying to play the game.

There are two options when you start the Mcc in multiplayer one to play the second to play with anti cheat running, i have tried both and they do not let me the anti cheat keeps coming up I am wondering if anyone else also has two options to pick from? Is Mcc the only halo game that this comes up on, or does it also come up on all the halo games?

If I was to delete steam would the problem, go away?

In both cases i have deleted the Mcc and have not reinstall it back to my laptop. With my new laptop I was surprised to see the error again.

I also have the Xbox pass running windows 11 the laptop is only 3 weeks old

I would appreciate any help someone can give me to help solve this problem without deleting steam and the games I have on it.

In this case, it would most likely be necessary to change the ownership of the WindowsApps folder, but this process isn't that simple and it also isn't recommended for the regular user to mess with such settings, as it may lead to other issues with the installation and update of apps and games through both the Microsoft Store and Xbox app. In your case, given that the issue is more likely with the EAC software itself, and not with the game or Windows, the most recommended step would be to contact and report the problem to the EAC Support through this page: https://www.easy.ac/en-us/support/game/contact/...

There, you can fill the form and also let them know that the issue is related to an Xbox app (technically Microsoft Store) game, which is most likely a bug.

facing the same problem, also contacted easy anti-cheat. submitted a ticket, about a week now, still no response. anybody have any luck in getting the game to work.
