    Xbox Guide Not Opening/ Freezing Console


    Since 2 weeks ago, I haven't been able to play my console. Whenever I press the guide button, it fades the screen and never opens the guide and the controller stops responding. Apps/Games don't open either, they only show the preview picture but never open
    and the controller stops responding. It is also worth noting that i am in the preview program with the new update. Please assist me since this has made my console completely useless!

    Guide Not Opening

    As stated above, the guide will not open. Here's what happens: I press the home/xbox button, the screen gets slightly darker (as if the quide was open,) I have to wait, the I get error code (0x8027025a). I don't know why this happens but
    need to know how to fix the problem. [Note: Earlier today the guide would open but nothing was shown in it (no recent games or anything) it still had other pages, like the friends section, however.] I can't record clips or take screenshots except, maybe, with
    my chatpad. I also can't long-press the home/xbox button to view achievments and the like.

    Is it a Xbox 360 fat console? Or a Xbox 360 slim console? Does it freeze while playing a game or when you open up the guide? Some games can play up when you have too many game saves maybe delete old saves?

    Is the only game that seems to be experiencing this issue?

    Try following this My Xbox One game won’t start or freezes during gameplay article.

    One recommended step to try is to restart the console.

    The process of this is to:

    1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
      Note Pressing the Xbox button will open the guide from any other screen on the console.
    2. Select Settings.
    3. Select Restart console.
    4. Select Yes to confirm.
    Let us know if this works!
