Xbox guide/home button not working

There seems to be a problem with the guide button. It flashes 6 times then stops and then guide button doesn't work anymore. All the other buttons work but the guide doesn't. I also have a second controller but that has the same problem.

Occasionally my xbox guide will glitch out, making it so when i press A on a tile, it shows the animation as usual, but the app/menu won’t open. Then i have to restart my xbox. Anyone else have this issue?

Sorry to hear it. I had that once a while back but a factory reset solved the issue. There is an option to keep installed games and apps so you won't need to worry about redownloading if you choose to give this a try.

 

I'm having a similar issue. At first they wouldn't connect to the xbox one. I was able to get them to connect via the sync buttons on the console and the controllers. Once on and working, everything seems fine until you press the guide button. That still
doesn't work. I tried updating the controllers, but it had no effect. The only thing out of the ordinary was that immediately before this started happening, I tried streaming to my laptop.

 

I used my controllers mostly for pc and it worked fine before, but for some reason after I had to reinstall everything it stopped working. I tried on another pc but it still has the same problem.

 

Could you clarify what doesn't work means? As in what is the expectation, and what were you doing at the time you noticed it doesn't work?
