    Xbox guide button not functioning after first day of using it.


    Purchased the special edition white Xbox one halo edition and on the second day of using it the Xbox guide button on the controller has stopped working. Can't turn the controller on with it nor can I turn the system on. Bought a plug and play kit and plugging
    it in to that will get the controller to come on so that I can use it but the guide button still fails to work. I have tried the following things, power cycled the Xbox one, and I have updated the controller with the USB cable but still no luck with the button
    functioning properly. One other side note right before it quit working I had the controller sitting right behind my smart TV for about 5 mins. Don't know if that could affect it but just giving all possible scenarios.

    Guide button not functioning on Xbox controller

    Hi, I am trying to use my Xbox and some of the options are not working. I want to hit the Xbox guide button (The Xbox logo that glows up on the controller). When I click it my screen just dims like it should, but does not give me the options. This is frustrating
    because I want to invite people to parties or games vice versa they invite me. I restarted my console multiple times and it is not fixed. What should I do?

    Xbox One Controller Issues

    Another slight update. After some experimenting with various games, it seems that the right thumbstick and right trigger buttons are not functioning.

    It looks as though I am in need of a new controller.

    With Kinect not a requirement what happens to game recording?

    I reckon what used to be the back button will function as a sort of mini guide like the Xbox button does now.

    Still no luck Mister Cizl :( I have noticed however that it isn't only the Xbox guide button that won't activate as a hold. All the buttons don't function as a hold feature, even the volume buttons. It senses the first push then the backlight on the media
    remote shuts off and the hold function, on any button pressed, does not work.

    I'd love it if there was a similar guide thingy on One than the guide is on 360. It had everything I needed easily available with just a push of a button. No slow snapping or going to the home screen to scroll through a ton of stuff to find something. It's
    like Microsoft just loves to make things worse as years go by :(

    I'm inclined to agree with your idea. In any case, I've always referred to it as "the Xbox button" since that's what I heard Major Nelson always call it. ;)
