Xbox group chat often freezes, and a restart is required to fix it temporarily

The title is self-explanatory, but here is more information:

My Xbox group chat often "freezes" (messages don't update in real time, can't send any messages to the group chat, etc.) and I have to restart my Xbox every time it does it. Is there a solution to fix this permanently to where it just works? It's kind of annoying to be playing a competitive game to all of a sudden not being able to chat with your team and having to restart your console every time it happens.

Please answer the following questions to assist you properly :

What Xbox model do you have?
When this started to happen?
Are you using an insider build / beta OS in your console?
And, what did you tried so far to fix this?
In that way I can advise you different things or how to proceed

In the meantime, please try power cycling your console :

1. Turn off your console by pressing the Xbox button on the front of the console for about 10 seconds, until it shuts down completely.
2. Unplug the console's power cable from the console and from the power outlet. Wait 5 minutes.
Important: Be sure to wait at least 5 minutes. This step resets the power supply.
3. Plug the console power cable back in.
4. Press the Xbox button on your console to turn it on.

After that, try to remove and re-add your profile on the console.

I am also having this problem every now and then. Restarting the Xbox seems to fix it temporarily.

Hi. I'm also having loads of issues with COD on my One X. Last night it was really laggy and quite often freezes.

I've found doing a full console restart fixes it for that game session.

Twitter is great for promotion but requires so degree of work in networking. Xbox Facebook groups are great. Often they will allow promotion of clubs if you ask admins.

I occasionally have a similar problem where the screen is blank (with no sound) and have to do a complete restart of the Xbox for it to work.

Far more often I have the issue that the screen freezes within a second of starting the TV app, quitting the App (from the home screen menu) and restarting sometimes fixes this. Other times changing to and from the Set top box guide/menu sometimes fixes
it.
