Xbox Green Screen

Tried to run manual update from usb drive. Does not seem that system is accessing the file from usb drive. Is there any controller combination that will cause system to run file from usb drive. Thank you for any assistance.

Issues with Xbox Live

My screen is all black last I tried to turn on my Xbox to watch some TV, I'm guessing Xbox Live is the reason? I can't even see the home screen, just a black screen. It's weird cause the green popup signed me in when I was in front of Kinect and I use my voice but outside of the green popups I've got nothing but a black screen.

Thanks for reaching out! I'm sorry to hear about the issue with the Xbox screen coming up while you try to watch digital content on the Xbox. If the steps above did not work, please try doing a soft factory reset on the console.

How to reset your console to factory defaults on Xbox One

Reset and keep my games & apps. You should use this option as your primary choice when troubleshooting. It will reset the OS and delete all potentially corrupted data without deleting your games or apps.
Note: Please make sure to know the emails and passwords for the Xbox profiles on the console. This step will log you off the profiles.

Which USB drive?

The one on the side seems to be a bit tempermental. Did you try one in the back?

For what it's worth: Watched a youtube vid on this, and according to the vid. People often forget that the downloaded xbox file has to be unzipped before putting it onto a properly formatted thumbdrive. otherwise the console can't read the program.

Still did not work. And I'm sure it's unzipped. Even viewrd it again. My system is not making the double power up sound

My system is on the Xbox Green screen for 20m screen goes black them out shuts off.

Just a thought OP.

Perhaps xbox repair, if it's still under waranty. If not then... I was at wallyworld yesterday and saw the prices of xbox one. (IF THE PRICES WERE LIGIT) on sale for as little as $179.99

If it is, then it's better than paying for out of warranty repairs.

My xbox one s goes to green screen on start up and is slow, sometimes it will go to the home screen, but will not let me do anything else (games, apps,etc.). I have tried a soft reset and hard reset but it just goes blank then sometimes back to

Update This morning I turned it on and it just sits at the green xbox one screen. I tried the factory restore with no luck it still just sits at the green screen loading.

Mine has been stuck on the green screen for hours I have tried unconnecting power and reseting but is still stuck on the green screen. is this possibly green screen of death?

Hi there!

I had this happen once before, what ended up fixing it for me was shutting down ny xbox fully, then removing all cables from it. From there hold in the power button for 30 seconds to discharge any remaining power. Give it 2 minutes, hook everything back
up and power it on, you should be good to go then!
