    I have attempted to use Xbox gold today, which I renewed for a year on 21/12/17. However, upon signing in I learnt I did not have access to my gold. I checked the website to find my gold demanded another yearly payment, despite claiming it was active until

    But how can this happen? My Gold membership is a pre paid one which was paid fully, its not a monthly subscription for Xbox Live not to work. So if I migrate my account to US and still stay in Malaysia after 3 months, will my Gold Subscription show up again?

    Gold trial didn't allow for purchase of discounted game.

    Hey there MAS0N M00SE,

    A Gold trial will allow you to use many Xbox Live Gold services, however it will not allow you to use benefits such as Games with Gold or Deals with Gold, since it isn't classified as a paid subscription.

    On the bottom of
    this page    , you'll see the details letting you know that this is a feature only for paid subscriptions.

    I hope that helps to clarify things a bit more for you.

    in order to download Games with Gold for free, you will need a paid Xbox Live Gold subscription, any free trials will not count as Gold to allow purchasing those Games with Gold games for free

    As stated earlier, you need a paid Gold subscription to download the Xbox Games with Gold. The Xbox 360 are
    free to keep without a continuous subscription. Xbox One Games with Gold need an
    active subscription to allow play.
