XBOX gold not able to add the activationcode at Xbox site in my account

I receive an error while using the activationcode for my XBOX gold membership. How to continue now??

Adding my partners Xbox 360 Username to the Xbox One

Can this be ported to the Xbox one from the 360? She has built up quite a bit of points and would love to bring the username across

She was on my account as just a user and I was the only one paying Gold

Would we be able to add one of the 24hr pass free gold tickets so she can add her name and port it or can't this be done at all?

XBL won't accept card details

Now resolved

My problem was the name on the account. The Xbox Account, not the bank account/card details (xboxlive...Account/BillingAccountInformation).

After changing this to my real name (rather than nickname), I was able to add a card - BUT still not able to process a payment.

I then added a PayPal account to my xbox account, and...

Back on Gold!

the message i get after entering the activationcode is:

Sorry, an unexpected error has occurred. The error has been recorded and we will investigate. Please try to redeem your code later

 

Did anyone get such a response, what is the cause??

The activationcode is checked, and is not in use and is valid.

Is there any support for Xbox live membership?

Remeeming errors are usually caused by issues on the account itself. Be sure to check your billing information at
http://billing.microsoft.com and after that try redeeming the code on both xbox console and via xbox.com/redeemcode

If it is still not working properly please use
support.xbox.com/error-code-lookup to search for any steps regarding the errorcode you are receiving.

If nothing is found then specify the full actual error message (and errorcode) you are receiving when trying to redeem the prepaid code they can help to determine a possible cause.
