Xbox gold no code sent

Hi

this may sound like a silly question, I signed up to Xbox gold for my son last night but he still doesn't seem to be able to use it. He says they should have sent a code in the confirmation email but there wasn't one included. Does it work automatically
or do we need the code? I've tried support chat and request a call but still no response.

MS ripped me off, can anyone help me out?

Hello, I bought xbox live gold a while ago, when there was a deal going, the deal was buy three months of gold and get a code sent by email, for another three months of xbox live gold. Seemed like a great deal so I purchased. Well, it said that the code would be sent by May 15, I purchased this in early January.
Now the codes have not been sent, haven't heard anything from MS, feeling ripped off. Did this happen to anyone here? And I am very sure the deal was valid for me.

I was just told this while chatting with an MS rep about a separate issue: "Every console sent in for repair will have a free 30 day Xbox Live Gold subscription after the repair. However for those with disc unreadable issue, on top of the free 30 day Xbox Live Gold subscription, they'll receive a free game token." They will email the code after the replacement XBox has shipped.

 

If you purchased gold directly from Xbox, it is added directly to the account, you're not sent a code. The account you're posting with now is showing as gold, if this is not the account he is using, then it's possible the gold was added to the wrong account.

Ahh that makes sense, thank you very much I'll try that. Yes we added the gold to my account as he's a child and I assumed it would apply to all family on the Xbox.
