Xbox gold membership not showing on console

I recently purchased xbox live gold membership on-line, but my console is not recognizing that I am a gold member. Is there a secret to getting it to show up on my console? We are unable to play a recently purchased game because of the membership status
not updating. TY!

It takes a while to show up on your console when you purchase a gold membership online, give it some time.

On your console, go to Settings and select Account. Under Your Memberships tab, does it show as Xbox LIVE Gold?

Sorry to hear it. Right now your gamertag is showing as having a Silver membership. This suggests that you are actually using a shared membership on the Xbox One console. If you want to have Gold on your 360 then you'll need to purchase a separate membership
on your account for that console.
