Xbox gold member for years

Your Tenure is updated on the date of creation of your gamertag. For example, if you created your gamertag in July the tenure will not update until that date regardless of how many times you've renewed it.

Tenure doesn't go up at all when you're a silver member. Microsoft recently changed the way tenure was calculated, and it is now only counting the time that you have been a Xbox LIVE Gold member (paid).

If you were a gold member for 2 years out of 5 years then you would now have a 2 next to your name. Any sort of lapses in your membership where were only a gold member for 5 months out of a year or something of that sort then you'd need to complete the whole
year cycle before another year of tenure is added to your account.

No. Tenure is currently broken. I've been gold for 15 years, since Xbox Live beta and it is only reporting 12.

no it's not opinion, look at all the deals gold members got in 2012, about 10 in total were at all decent, most sucked january this year alone there are better deals then half of what gold members got all last year.

you can keep trying to say otherwise but the free games are amazing for the minor fee of $50 in 1 year I got more than gold members have gotten since the original xbox.
