Xbox Gold Killer Instinct Sale Question (20+20=40)

I don't know it this is the right place to ask this. There is sale (supposedly) of the Killer Instinct Ultra DLC at 50% for those that have already purchased the combo pack. But looking at the price it is 50% off the normal price of $40 now at $20. This
makes no sense since the combo pack was $20 this just makes the overall upgrade to the ultra pack back to the original cost of the ultra pack ($20 for the original combo pack and now $20 for the ultra pack). I mean if I didn't already have the combo pack
it would be cheaper to just buy the overall ultra pack as it is 12% for new purchases. Do I have this correct and is Microsoft somehow math challenged or do they think most X1 users can't add?

Can somebody tell me if I have this deal correct? If so Wow! That would be really arrogant of Microsoft.

Combo & Ultra Combo Breaker Bundles

$40 it is then Killer Instinct will be priced in two different bundles - VG247

 

It seems to me that Microsoft is making it so that you can upgrade versions without having to pay full price for both, but just the difference in price between the two.
