Xbox Gold is renewed but denying party access.

I think there is a difference between a game that is at its core designed as a single player RPG and a game series primarily marketed for online multiplayer that is removing support for a pre-existing online feature.

I get the OP's frustration though. When you think about it, you pay 60 a year for gold to....

- access online multiplayer, though it is usually provided by a third party and not by microsoft.

- access apps that are also provided by a third party and not by microsoft.

Those are the primary features and the most common ones that motivate people to pay for gold.

It's a paywall and at the end of the day you are at the mercy of these third parties as to whether or not they will support the feature of interest to you to ensure that you will have access regardless of what you are paying Microsoft for it. It sucks when
you pay a company for access to something only to be denied it and be met with responses about how "it's not their problem, they have no control over that. That's because _____ company didn't want to support it anymore." It makes you question why your money
is going specifically to MS. People may not agree, but I get it.

Not the issue. Microsoft paywalled me. Denied access to offline content without paying for gold. Data pack was unavailable unless a gold member.

Purchased games with a discount are yours to keep. The only games you'll lose access to when a gold account expires are the free Games with Gold on Xbox One. Should you renew your Gold membership later, you'll get access to them again.

All games of the Xbox Game Pass subscription can be played as long as the subscription is active. When your subscription expires, access to those video games will be denied. You can return to playing those games only if you renew your subscription.

Terms are that you have access as long as Gold remains active. Should it lapse they freeze access to them then turn it back on once you renew Gold 😀
