XBOX Gold Family Share on 2 consoles?

Bought another XBOX for the den.

When my son wanted to play, it said he couldn't because he did not have an XBL Gold account.

But I have XBL Gold and on the older console, it worked for all my kids without me paying for any additional subscriptions.

Can anyone tell me what I need to do for the XBL to work for the kids on the new XB? I tried it and it worked for me but not for the kids.

If you mean a Family Gold Membership, ist not possible anymore. Family Gold is expired already. But, you could share your Membership with your Family on a Xbox One.

You would need to set the new console as your Home console. However, this will remove their ability to share your gold on your older console. You can only share gold on one console at a time.

Ok. But if they want to play online on the console that is not home, is there a way to do that with sharing my xbl subscription?

You would have to purchase at least 1 more gold subscription on another account and have that account set the second console as their Home.

there is a way your profile would have to be signed in at the same time as their profile on the console that is not set as your home console if this is done though you would not be able to sign in on the new console at the same time because you can only
be signed into one console at a time.

There is a way your profile that has the Gold would have to be signed in at the same time as their profile on the console that is not set as your home console.

If they do that though your profile would not be able to be signed in on any other console because you can only sign in on one console at a time if you sign into another console while they are signed in on the console that does not have it set as home then
your profile on that console would be signed out and they would be kicked from the game or gold usage.

I think extended is wrong.

The true and first meaning of the account/game sharing was to a house share like 2 brothers with 2 consoles and for the parents doesnt need to buy 2 xbox live golds or 2 games. And not to people share with all their friends.

Doesnt mix the family settings with account sharing on Xbox, is not the same thing and not the same end.
