XBox gold, dead console

Let me start by saying I am super frustrated with Microsoft.

My Xbox One S died, I have been patiently waiting and checking every day for stock hoping I can get lucky.

I decided today to contact Microsoft about my non-usable subscription, they told me they could do nothing for me but stop the next auto-renew, I have months left on the subscription that can't be used. They did however provide me with an option to have the unit repaired....... $179.99 for labor plus parts. Looking at parts pricing it would cost me almost as much as a new Xbox Series S. Why would anyone drop that kind of money into repairing a console that is discontinued?

I get the reasons why there is a lack of supply of the consoles, but offer a freeze on the subscription or something.

I can tell you with this experience I wouldn't be purchasing a yearly subscription again, just monthly, had I done that in the first place I would only be out a month, or it would be on me for continuing to pay. If you have an older box and your yearly is about up I would recommend changing to monthly until this Xbox fever is over with.

I have been a supporter of everything Microsoft for years, guess I will have to rethink that.

Again super disappointed and frustrated in their customer service options.
