    Game download card code scratched off.

    OMG, I just scratched off my code for a 12 month gold membership ($69.99!!) with a key and damaged my code too! What do I do??

    xbox live gold - code unreadable

    My son received an xbox live gold membership and when he was scratching off the code, he also scratched off the first few characters. Xbox live chat sent me to this forum to help. Anyone know what I can do to redeem the card?

    Either try to guess the numbers/letters or take it back to where you got it from & explain what happened,they may have a record of the code.

    Doubtful you will get a refund though.

    There's nothing Microsoft can do i'm afraid

    Since you also haven't got a credit card, your only option for gold when you have the money is to buy a prepaid gold card, which has a 5 by 5 digit code, you scratch off the panel and type the code on either xbox.com or on the xbox itself, and that will
    give you so many months of xbox live gold.

    How rigerously do you have to scratch off the silver part of a code card to scratch off the code?!?!?
