Xbox Gold and play anywhere

Thanks for reaching out to the forums in regards to this current issue. Sorry to hear this is persisting. I would like to get this resolved for you, so I would need to double check certain information. I do see you've stated your account is the main account
that has the Gold subscription and games.

Would you be able to verify this on your account by checking the
order history? Also, since the game is only working on your wife's account I suggest to check the order history of her account as well. If the game shows to have been redeemed to her account then that would be the account holder of the game, vise versa.
Let us know which account does show to own the game.

The console designated as your home Xbox is where you can share games and some content with others who sign in (with their own account) to that console with you. If you want to play on Windows PC you would have to be signed in as the account
that owns the game, as home Xbox isn't a feature available on Windows.

I keep using FORZA 7 and Forza 4 Horizon as the examples...

1. Its a Microsoft Product

2. Its a Play Anywhere Product

3. Multiple copies Are Owned

1. Xbox One was the Designated Home Console - Changed when the Xbox One X replaced it

2. Forza Horizon was installed on the Xbox One on My wife's Profile , and was available on the PC on My profile

3. Forza 7 was Purchased on Disc and installed on My Wifes Profile an is available to my profile on the Xbox One, its available on My Wifes PC profile but not mines

4. The Xbox One X was purchased , it came with Forza 7 Digital. This was installed on MY profile on the Xbox One X, it replaced the Version installed from disc on My wife's Profile, it is still available to My wife on the PC, but Not ME!

5. I can install Forza 7 from the Microsoft Store - As long as I pay for it again!

6. I can "purchase" free cars for Forza 7 on the PC, but at the last second they fail to install, they are however on the Xbox One X on All profiles when I go there.

So as you can See, I have Followed ALL the steps you and Microsoft Suggest, yet I cannot get the End Result!

Same goes for the Xbox Gold and the Xbox Live, My wife gets every benefit from them, Yet I Get Nothing (except paying for it all)

This NEVER was a problem in the past! I was able to get Halo - and Play it, then it just stopped and left the list of games I had, I got all the Forza series up to Forza 7 then nothing, in fact items I did have are now disappearing from the possible downloads

I have tried different computers, different setups, cleaning the Device list, clean installs.. Nothing!

If I want to play any of these games, I either have to log in as my wife on the PC, or log in on the Xbox - I hate the Xbox controllers much prefer a Keyboard and Mouse , so I tend not to use the Xbox unless I have no choice.

I have been buying & playing Computer games since the 1980's , in those days the main emphasis was on "Computer Piracy eroding the industry", Seems like they locked the market off then, and I have been paying for it ever since.

Its Wrong that you have to buy the same game Multiple times, and nowadays pay an online Subscription on Top of the multiple times to play a game every Now and Again!

From a "Simple Point of view!" , the answer is actually very simple, I register the Xbox in my email address, the game goes on under my email address, ALL of the Microsoft Serials are logged under my email address, The IP address the computers and Xbox connect
are associated with my email address, This post is going up with me being identified by my email address.

Surely it would not be a big job to extrapolate the information from the servers and allow access based upon my email address... look into ODBC... Seems to work for getting the money out of me!!

@97GB per download (on my pc login -though I cannot play the game) this trial and error again and again is rather annoying

Forza 7 is a disk you will need the disk to play it on your profile, even on your wife profile will need the disk. Licenses are carried on the disk themselves. For the digital version, we recommend go to Xbox.com log on to you and your wife profile see who
has the entitlement in the library. Sounds like you installed on your wife profile.

Personally I agree there should be like a network home console. I currently have 6 consoles in my house running, have to purchase at least 3 copies of every game. You can submit an idea for this on
Xbox ideas. More people suggesting it, they might think about implementing this.

Nearly All of the Purchases for the GAMES go through my Wife, Therefore making sense that it is only her that can play them on the PC's and the Xbox's

The Confusing bit is that Until we got the Xbox One X, All of these games would play for Everybody on the console and the PC, hence the Annoyance! It was decided to buy the New Xbox for no other reason that the old one was out of warranty, and the upgraded
Graphics (which ps not having a 4k TV really does not make sense)

It was also WHY the copy of Forza 7 that came with the Xbox One X was loaded in MY profile, since the one on My Wife's would not work for me on the PC. It made no difference - She is still the only one that can play the game, Yet Forza 4 still works on
Both profiles on the PC and Both the consoles.

It had been designated as the Home Box during the setup

During the Winter Nights there might be 2 on the Xbox and 2 on the PC's with 2 on the Macs, yet we cannot All play.

A good example would be Elder Scrolls Online (yes I know its not a MS game), but it brings home the problem as far as I am Concerned, I have had to BUY 6 copies of this game, and 18 Additional packs. a total cost of £816, but we cannot play together as its
on different severs, mac + PC no problem, Xbox is on its own - anything played on the Xbox does not move overt to the PC platform.

2 Copies of Fallout 4 - once more on its own, and 3 copies of fallout 76.

If the games were played long term then I would have less of a problem, but the games are played then replaced then played again. then forgotten.

Its a lot on money to keep flinging away, These 4 games and the Xbox One X , would have given us a Weeks vacation plus flights in Disney. So as you can guess I would like to save money every now and again… Just seems to be an impossibility
