    Dear Microsoft Support staff,

Hi, I'm an Xbox One user bought the system a few days ago.

I'm very much impressed by the performances of Kinect voice commands.

    So I've tried a lot of things, and I think I found a bug/glitch.

If I start the system fresh anew (reboot, energy-saving mode), in offline, Kinect does not recognize
one particular voice command, "Xbox Go to Settings".

However, if I connect the system to online once, then the voice command suddenly works. From thereafter, the voice command also remains to work regardless of the system being online or offline.

In short, "Xbox Go to Settings" voice command appears to be activated once I connect to the internet, before that, that specific command is dead. This surely seems to be a glitch.

I'll simply describe the situation again in steps.

    (1) fresh start system in online mode: (aka. set the network as online, then fresh start)

"Xbox Go to Settings" voice command works.

    (2) fresh start system in offline mode: (aka. set the network as offline, then fresh start)

"Xbox Go to Settings" voice command does not work.

(2-1) fresh start system in offline mode- Then go online:

"Xbox Go to Settings" voice command works again.

(2-2) fresh start system in offline mode- Then go online - Then go offline:

"Xbox Go to Settings" voice command still works.

(2-2-1) fresh start system in offline mode- Then go online - Then go offline- Then fresh start system in offline mode:

"Xbox Go to Settings" voice command does not work again.

Please try this at your test system, I'm quite sure this is a glitch, probably that "Xbox Go to Settings" voice command is related to some trigger bug that the user needs to be online at least once.

I've done to the latest updates and this glitch exists (if you use instant-on, then it kinda saves the previous state so this glitch won't show up. It appears by doing a new, fresh boots (energy-saving))

Thank you very much for your time.

    :)

  2. After the update my "Xbox On" command won't work?

Let me add my voice to those for whom "Xbox On" does not work, either before or after the up date except for a weird two times that I tried it just after doing the "Xbox Turn Off" bit. Even that does not work now. All other voice commands continue to work
    fine.

Cortana not working with Xbox One Kinect

I have the latest update and now none of the voice commands work. It won't respond to Hey Cortana or Xbox. It works once after reboot and then fails to work/respond after that. I recalibrated the Kinect sensor as well, but still doesn't work.

    Hi there, Arthurhahnmiles.

    If you try enabling
    Cortana voice commands
, are you able to bring up the Settings menu using "Hey Cortana, go to Settings"?

  5. Hello, Mister Cazador,

I restarted my Xbox One with Cortana commands enabled, in offline mode.

"Hey Cortana, go to Settings" worked. Well, it's good to see things work.

Cortana seems to be advanced than simple Xbox commands.

Nevertheless, I would like to point out that the same thing should work as well by using Xbox commands.

Have you tried "Xbox, go to Settings", after you are fresh rebooted in offline mode?

If it doesn't work, I hope you contact the developers and see what's wrong with it.

Thank you very much for your time.

  7. Dear Mister Cazador,

Sorry for not replying so long,

So is this confirmed to be a bug/glitch?

On two conditions, (1) when fresh new booted, (2) without network connection,

the bug/glitch is activated, (3) "Xbox, Go to Settings" voice command not working.

Is this going to likely be fixed in next update /or in the future updates?

    Thank you very much.

  8. "Xbox Go to Settings" voice command does not work after fresh reboot.

Hi there Arthur, thanks for reaching back out to us.

We do have an update to share in that we were unable to consistently repro this behavior while testing this on our Xbox One consoles.

With that said, throughout the last step you shared with us, while "Xbox go to Settings" did not immediately pull up the Settings menu after signing back into a profile following a full

    power cycle
and full system shutdown while in Offline Mode, when connecting back to the network, "Xbox go to Settings" did indeed function as intended. Taking the console back Offline also yielded favorable results when using the "Xbox go to Settings" voice
    command.

Something you may want to try is a
    full factory reset
of your Xbox One console while your Kinect is connected as well to see if that helps with this experience. Additionally, please be sure to share any
feedback with us on that experience or any other features you'd like to see in future Xbox One console updates.
